Even if he is not a full boxer he sure is a cute little thing. I would like to hear how everything turns out with the breeder.

i bagree with everyone he does not look like a purebreed but he is cute i think that not seeing the dog with its mother and the cheep price also would add to the suspicion(sp). i learned my lesson the hard way when i bought from a backyard breeder. I gt a sick dog who had to be put to sleep. it is definetly worth the money to go someone who knows what they are doing
enjoy henri if he is health that is the important thing
but i would speak to the breeder so he doesn'ttry it with another litter

I agree with everyone else......he is a mix. Love Henry (as I know you do already) and be sure to research the breeder before you purchase next time.

Have you been able to get ahold of the breeder since your original post? If so, what was said? Did they end up supplying you with papers? If so, contact AKC immediatly, and be sure to send a picture also. AKC needs to investigate this, and suspend this breeder from registering.

Here is a link that shows a pictoral view of the boxer standards.

Andrea your MyRocky looks like

My "Blade" He has the longer nose too but all the boxer traits. When he was younger I got the "Is he a pitbull questions?" as he ages people recognize him as being a BOXER. The dog in this original post caught my attention when I first saw him in the picture gallery. You don't think boxer when you first see him but you do say "Isn't he a good looking dog!"smashicon

He is definitely a nice looking dog. Since you're
happy with him and don't want a lot of hassle, but
are angry at the breeder's deception, I would just
send a photo and a copy of your paperwork stating
this is a purebred boxer to AKC and let them
investigate.

If indeed he's submitted paperwork to them claiming
they're purebred, they will probably demand a genetic
test of the sire named on the paper and your puppy. (This
would be nothing but a simple cheek swab).

The worst they would do to him is void all the papers on
his dogs and ban him from registering any for a while.

If he never submitted any paperwork to them, they can't
do anything, and all you could do to make him pay is small
claims court. If that's not worth the bother I'd just send
him a copy of his paperwork stating that the dog is a
purebred and your desire for a refund of the difference
in purchase price between dogs with papers and dogs
without in your area, or you will sue in small claims court
and he will lose. Maybe he'll pay up to be rid of you -- you
just have to decide if the bother is worth $100.

Well, I guess I am with everyone else. From my very limited knowledge, he looks like a mix to me. But you know what.....so what. He is a beautiful dog and if you love him, who cares. If it were me though I would try to take some recourse against the breeder be it through the courts or with the AKC. Seems to me he really didn't know what he was doing. Just my opinion.

One of our girls, Willow, does not look like the purebred boxer that she is supposed to be. The breeder we got her from sent us pics of the mother, father, and just born puppies along with the pedigrees for the parents. The puppies were supposed to be AKC and CKC registered. However, when we picked her up, he did not give us the AKC papers and the CKC papers had a different name under the father, but was still listed as a boxer. We also found out that she had demodectic mange when we got her home. We decided to keep her because she's a sweetheart and we were afraid that the breeder would just put her to sleep. We tried to get some of our money back because we had a health guarantee. But he avoided all of our calls and e-mails. We really wanted to take him to court just to see if they could get him to stop breeding, but there were too many hassles. Now we just keep an eye out for him selling more puppies so we can try to warn potential buyers. We have definetly learned to do more research on the breeders we choose. But we love Willow and wouldn't trade her for anything. There are some pics of her in the member gallery. She too has a longer nose. Enjoy your baby. He is still wonderful!

Hello

Henry is an absolutely beautiful dog!
I agree with everyone else on the mixed issue. I cannot get over how BIG he looks in the picture. What a massive guy.
I have a half Boxer half AmStaff and she is about 5 months now and weighs about 25 pounds, She could easily walk under your guy.:) His facial expression reminds me of my girl a lot.

Mixes are great also!
Good Luck!

Yep, he's a mix but he is a beautiful one at that. Other than trying to get your money back, I would just learn from this. My white boxer Mason has a longer snout than Leena, and I at first thought he was a mix. Oh well, once you experience love at first site with your boxers, who cares what they look like. Good luck, and let us know how this all turns out.:)

Like everyone else, I agree that Henry is probably a mix, but what a GORGEOUS mix he is! Actually, he reminds me a lot of a Rhodesian Ridgeback.... take a look at a Ridgie and see if you agree.
