Not quite right...

So Arabella's appetite has been off. She sometimes only eats one meal a day or will only eat half her food. She hasn't thrown up since this started and her poop is good but her energy is off a little. She still plays but not for as long. And she seems generally happy.

This morning when petting her I got a whiff of some bad breath and found a growth in her mouth. Took her into the vet and they found another one on the other side. The vet says it doesn't look they should be bothering her though. I also found a bump on her belly last week. Vet says it feels like a fatty tumor and for now we can let it be.

They took blood and are doing a complete blood work up and suggested I add a scrambled egg to her food to get her to eat. We are going to watch her a few more days and see how things go. If not better my Monday maybe do an x-ray.

I keeping wondering if I am being overactive or not. I went back and forth for a few hours before I called the vet today. The vet said she would rather be safe and check things out than not. Then when my husband came home he agreed she hasn't been quite right either. On top of it all today has been a really hard day for me and missing Thor. He always loved kids and would love checking out the trick-or-treaters. I have cried more today then I have all month.

I don't think you are over reacting at all. Being protective can save lives, help something from getting too serious or at the very least help you sleep more peaceful at night.
You know her best. Something is going on in her mouth and she isn't eating as well as usual. No matter if the vet says it shouldn't be affecting her it could be!
There could be other things the vet can't see. I suspect the blood work will come back fine but still something going on that needs addressed. In my experience the issues need to be pretty severe to show up in the blood work meaning you would have noticed something more than not eating as much or being a bit sluggish. Wishing your girl a speedy recovery from whatever is ailing her.
I am sorry you are so sad today. Sometimes it just sneaks up on us and we get blindsided.

Or she could just be missing Thor...You know her best so if shes off you will know and maybe if she is not eating her usual quota of food she may not have enough fuel in the tank to be her usual self..
Maybe its just a matter of making her food interesting ,it may kick start her appetite again.

Missing a loved one hits at the strangest of times, My Grandmother is gone 6yrs and a month or so ago a song she used to like came on the radio and I cried on and off for the rest of the evening ..Its still very raw for you and there will be a lot of firsts which are hard to deal with .. I'm sorry that Arabella isn't feeling well. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's nothing serious. Maybe she is just missing Thor too. Keep us posted on her.

Thank you everyone! The vet suggested I try adding scrambled egg on her food, and it seemed to get her eating tonight. I will do the same in the morning. Hopefully that will work again.

I don't think you are over-reacting at all. You're her mom and best advocate - you know her better than anyone. You did just the right thing.

I hope she continues to eat better - the scrambled egg is a good trick that I'm going to tuck away in my brain.

Many hugs to you for your tears. Thor was a big presence in your life and it has only been a short time. It sounds like Arabella did great with the trick or treaters - the little monkey kiss made me smile!
