OK, so my baby girl Roxy is 7 1/2 months old and is not potty trained. She was almost there and then we got her spayed and she has gone totally down hill. Has anyone else encountered this problem. I don't think I can stand this much longer!!!!!! Help!!!!

Patience..... She will get there. Keep your chin up. Just mark your watch if she goes every hour 10 min, then let her out every hour. I even put the bells on the back door and made her ring them, because she is so quiet when she wants out she just STARES at you or walks around the corner and looks at you like hello, i am here. When she goes out to p, then does the deed give her a good girl or a yes good girl and rub her like you are so proud of her....this did it for Kiki. Just watch your timer and when she trys to p and take her out like clock work and get her into the habit/schedule. It is something that is really easy if your consistant.

After we had Phoebe spayed she had a bit of a relapse in potty training. Took just a little while to get right back on track. Maybe it has something to do with the bruising inside from the surgery or swelling putting pressure on the bladder (just my guess)

I had the same problem with my dog. It took a while before she was almost housetrained, and then she was spayed and went down hill for a while. That is completely normal though. Don't give up.

Both my girls had potty relapses after spaying. I'd say it is fairly typical. Give it more time, keep up the consistent work you've been doing and you'll get there. She's still pretty young.

Do you have carpet?

When my baby Boxer was about 90% potty trained (5 months), we had our carpets *professionally* cleaned and amazingly enough he hasn't had an accident since.

We used to steam clean each accident with the home cleaner but he still had accidents in the same areas. It was well worth every penny of the $150.00 we spent.

Good luck!

Ps...Sears is excellent as they offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee of their carpet cleaning service (not of the potty training) and they'll come back and re-clean your carpets if you are not satisfied with their work--no questions asked.
