I'm sorry about Ellie! I'm not sure about animals but people can live a long time with only 1 kidney..my neighbors mother for example has only 1 kidney for about 3 years now..there is hope..keep faith..and let us know..Bubba,
Bella, and myself are sending healing and healthy vibes to you and Ellie...

Oh Vicky, I am so sorry. Please try to stay strong and you and Ellie fight this thing through. Sending tons of <<<positive vibes>>> to your little girl. You will both be in our thoughts.

I do remember your previous posts, and I am so sorry to hear things have gotten worse. Just keep your chin up and spend as much time with Ellie as possible. Don't mourn her before her time, you never know what could happen, miracles occur every day. I will be thinking of you and baby Ellie.

Hope that all goes well

I had a friend that was born with only one working kidney and it was weak, so they did a kidney transplant when she was 9. She will be 33 in October and has had no problem living with just one kidney. I know that humans and dogs are different, but I don't see how a dog couldn't live with only one kidney as well. Hope that everything goes well, you'll be in our thoughts and prayers.

Im really sorry to hear the bad news

I wont go into a lot of details but I kinda know what your going through, my first boxer back in April was acting sick, wouldnt eat or drink so I took her to the vet and we found out she had kidney and liver failure, I was heart broken,I could see it happening at and older age but mine was only 6 and yours even younger, so I will be praying for both of you.

We are praying with all our heart that Ellie's left kidney is functioning 50% which would have to mean it works perfectly, the other 50% which is her right one is not functioning at all!!! For her to live a normal healthy life she has to have her left kidney working fully... the vet is concerned as her left kidney has a terrible infection and this normally damages the kidney by a few percent.. i believe from what the vet has said that Ellie will be in a danger zone if she has 30% or less of her left kidney working... We are stuck between 2 rocks as if her left kidney isn't working fully (50%) then they will be unable to remove her right one which is at risk of infecting her left one.. which will then cause more damage. The vet feels that Ellie would probably not make it through surgery if her left kidney is not perfect.... so we again have an anxious wait to see what state her left kidney is in after the infection has cleared up.

FINGERS CROSSED FOR SOME GOOD NEWS!!!!!

Love and best wishes,

Vicky and Ellie xxxxx
