Not eating

It seems Emma has been having issues with her stomach being really upset; she is having growling noises and other noises. She hasn't eaten anything that I know of that is bad for her, I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with their boxers. I am going to make a vet appointment for her if she doesn't eat by tomorrow. I am worried about her. Any ideas would be helpful. Emma's Pop

How long has she not been eating? Have you tried to entice her with other goodies? The most important thing is to make sure she is drinking water.

As a matter of fact I don't think she has been drinking water either and she is not eating any treats. From what it sounds like from your message I am guessing she needs to go to the vet? Thanks for the reply and concern. Emma's Pop

If she's not eating or drinking, then a vet visit is probably a good idea. One possibility there is an obstruction. It could be many much simpler things also, including just plain upset tummy - but it's better to be safe than sorry in this sort of situation. Is she eliminating normally?

She is having the runs and she just "barfed" on the floor and it doesn't look like her food is digesting very well. It is time for a vet call. She is still very active though so I am at a loss. Emma's Pop

I would call a vet now indeed. On that basis, I'd be pretty suspicious that she may have an intestinal blockage or partial blockage. That would eventually be life threatening.

And even if it isn't the problem, something is clearly a problem. Best to get a doctor to investigate what it is. Good luck!

We had a similar issue when our pup was about 4 months old. He ate but stopped drinking water. He had diarrhea and threw up a couple of times for two weeks straight. We took him to three vets and spend almost 800 dollars. I was on a different boxer board where a lady posted a similar problem.

Our findings were inconclusive with there different vets.

Strangly enough, right after that problem they started recalling dog food. We had him on dry Nutro which was not recalled. We had him on Dry Nutro which was not on the recall list but I believe that there was something wrong with that food.

We now have him on Canidae and love it.

We are having simular problems with diarreah, and vomiting food. Dana( 10 yr old boxer) is drinking. She only wants to eat boiled chicken, not even a baked potatoe which she used to love ( no butter). Nutro was a problem too.Let me know what you find out. We are going to the vet also, it has been a week too long (pepto bismol helps a little). Hope your baby is better. Dana and Mom

I have just spent 1200.00 on my 2 yr old boxer boy. He vomitted all over the floor 2 wks ago and blood test showed that liver level was high for billy ribbon (excuse the spelling). It's normal now but he won't eat. All the sudden very picky, was okay with small portions of boiled rice and chicken, now scoots bowl across the floor and trys to cover it with rug. No diarreha, is drinking water but pretty laid back like sad. Of course, he didn't eat for 3 days being kept at emergency vet then our normal vet with IV with had antibotics, pepcid acid and food. He was able to come home because he kept some food down but you have to sit with him to even try to get him to eat. Acts hungry but very picky even with people food. Had x-ray it's fine. Has lost 5 pds so keeping an eye out of that. I have 3 dogs and all on Nutro Natural lamb and rice. Thought after reading some of the comments I would add one. He ate a 1/2 can of dog food last night but nothing this morning. I will try to feed him again once I get home from work. Hate seeing him not up to par.
