Fresh pup! :) She is a baby and really enjoying your game of chase-you aren't but she is :) You may want to practice with her on a long lead. I would go out with my pups on a long lead and practice recalls. If they do not come to you you can reel them in-gotcha! You need a secure place so as you are teaching recalls she can not escape and you do not have to chase her. You need your happiest goofiest voice and good food (why come if it is not rewarding?). Start in a place with no distractions and then you can build up to doing it when there are distractions. Reliable recalls take time and patience and when you call her do not give up until you "get" her without a chase game-hence the value of the long lead. I am sure others will post with good advice :)

I used Rollover for Foreman I call it doggy crack Its a tube of canned dog food that you can cut up New Balance makes a version of this dogs go crazy for it, I just used to rattle the bag and he would come, when I trained for recall lots of praise too. You have to get this issue under control before the terrible teen phase which starts around 8 months never go after her walk away Boxers are loyal and don't like to left alone out there. I would even start indoors with the sit and stay and come and then long leash outside.

When you are teaching the recall NEVER teach it unless you are in a closed area and preferably with a 20 ft leash. I was having problems w/Brandi not coming and I changed to this method and night and day difference. The doggie crack works great as that is what I used. Use the best treat and only that treat to teach recall. It's the most important command your dog can know. It can save it's life someday.

Both my boxer boys did the same thing! I think they get ammune to the word "come". One training class I did suggested that I use a different word - something different for come and something that really excited them. My dogs were both very "toy" motivated so she suggested using a laser light. You can buy them at hardware stores and some pet stores - it's like a pen with a red pointer light. My boxers just loved this toy - they would chase the light around the room. I introduced it just as a play toy, saying the word "light" when it was time to play with it. It only took a couple times and they knew what "light" was. So now, when I needed them to come, instead of saying come I would say "light" and they would bolt back to me. It didn't matter where we were, in a park with other dogs etc., the light was more exciting to them.
Just a suggestion - it worked for me.
Good Luck!

I was told to start the process with some treat that you can throw about 20 feet from you. (make sure that they can see the treat on the ground - so doing this in grass will not work) - then when they look at you for more, say "DOGS NAME, come" once. When they come and AFTER you have your hand on the collar, then give them another treat. If they do not come, go over and let them sniff it in your hand and lure them back to where you were, get your hand on the collar, and then give them the treat.

I agree you need to find something special, Chloe likes string cheese or cooked chicken, so they want to come to you.

Start this on leash or in a confined area with out distractions, then start moving towards new areas, like outside on leash, in the backyard on leash.

Also - start training to look at you when you call thier names, by calling their name and then treat them when they look at you - if they don't look at you don't continue to call their name, but make another noise to get them to look your way and then either click a clicker (or the other good cue - like good boy!) and treat.

this is similar to what we used to teach our boys. you definitely have to take them to the "start" point for come! every time they don't obey, get distracted, etc. basically, when they don't make it to you! :) we used steak for axe- it's the only thing he'd take while training! spoiled boy...

we had a BIG problem w/maximus coming when called, but i read in a boxer mag. to use/train with a different "call" when it's an urgent come (like "FAST COME!!") or something along with the word come so they know to hightail it, instead of "saunter" like my maximus does. he likes to come to me on his own time... just like his fur mother!

Oh yes!!! the game of chase! :D We are still going through this!!! We started using a short command. We'll say, "Chief, Come!" And when he came to us and sat, we gave him a treat! It's been a trial of repeat, repeat, repeat!!! And he still likes the game of chase! But it's getting better the more we practice! When he is in an inclosed area it works most of the time! However.... outside...we're still working on! :o Good luck!

These are good things to know. I've had 3 bad experiences with Harley over the last 5 days or so..
The first time, we were doing our off the leash time alone in a large school field, when someone else showed up with her dog still on a leash, Harley took off running. I yelled "stop" and "come" (I'll have to admit, I don't have any training class experience, Jakey was naturally a good boy and I never had an issue training him in "my own way".) Anyway, Harley ran and ran and then I ran and ran, I was chasing him around this lady and her dog trying to get his halti back on him, until she finally let her dog off it's leash and they played. The next time, it was the same type of thing.. we came out of the woods, and far across the field was a man throwing the frisbee for his dog. Needless to say, there goes Harley, and then there I went. The final day, we were still in the woods, and WAY across the field - not even in the field was a man walking his dog on the sidewalk. They were so far away, that I couldn't even see he had a dog with him. Harley took off like a shot and would not listen to me. I could've started screaming like I was on fire and he wouldn't have turned around. I finally arrived, and I could see the man was angry, his dog apparently was not a nice dog, and he was trying to keep them separated. Again I had to chase Harley around the man and finally got him. I was soooo angry at him, I took him straight home and cried - I felt terrible for the rest of the night. I know it's my fault for not learning my lesson by that point - I have now... For the 5 months that we had been out for our off the leash time he had never done this - and we go out almost every day.
