Ignore them. Ray is a small girl at barley 42-44 lbs. Alot of people get her confused with an American Pitbull Terrier because of her size and color.

That comment drives me nuts. At the doggie park last night I got asked if Layla was a minature boxer? And that was after she said that Layla will be big when she grows up. I said she's two! She's practually all grown up. Layla was at the vet yesterday and weighs 50lbs. Perfectly normal for a female. I get this at least once a week I'm sure....
People say the same thing about Cissy. I think she looks small -but that's because my other 3 are larger than her.But she is perfectly normal.Just had her checkup-almost 3- and she weighs 61 lbs of pure devilish-ness!! Dozer,however is my freak of nature! He is large-90lbs,definitely not by standard. In fact,I've had people ask me if he is a St. Bernard!!! Yep-a very shorthaired St.!!! 
Dozer & Cissy are littermates and as different in size as night and day.
Pooh is 80 lbs,but she is on a diet and is 8 years old-doing very well,I might add,too! Bownser is 71 lbs. But whenever I get a comment about Cissy,I just smile and say she is perfectly normal!!

Maybe we should all carry little cards (like business card sized) with this website, as well as AKC website, etc., listed on them, that we can just whip out of our pockets and say "Gee, glad you asked - here you go, some sources of info on this breed if you're interested in learning more." gradicon

Maggie is only 53 lbs. Or course since we have Baxter she has gained a few in competition eating.
This person is jealous and ignorant. The work ignorant means " lack of Knowledge" and
as for the jealous part- He said that because he doesn't have the love in him that you have to give a dog like Roxy a home.
I would have been rude and asked him if he was just plain ignorant or does he have facts to come to that conclusion!!!

well i think your baby girl is absolutely beautiful!! people who make those comments obviously base their feelings on the dogs genetics....rather than on its personality!! I wouldnt care if Duchess was only half boxer....I love her for who she is and thats all that matters!!
