Boxer Insane
I am very upset. The breeder we got Payton from mad a rude comment about my Roxy. My DH told me today that when we were at the breeders, the old man there asked "Why is that boxer so small?" talking about our Roxy. She is 2 years old and 55 lbs. The lady said "She is from the pound". The guy then said "Oh yeah, huh."
WHAT?! My baby may have been from the humane society, but I do think she is a pure blooded boxer. She may be small, and may be from the pound, but trust me she is ALL boxer. At least I think....
I am just upset, who is she to question MY dog?

People really have to learn to keep their comments to themselves. Both of your babies are be-a-utiful! There will forever be arrogantly ignortant ;) people in the world. Just brush them off :)

From all the posts that I have read, boxers come in all sizes. Some are 50lbs. and some are 100lbs. That doesn't make the big ones more of a boxer than the little ones, and good for you guys for saving Roxy from the shelter. You are a hero. That lady is probably just a bitter lady, and that is really sad for her, but you have two beautiful babies and lots of love. I think she was just being MEAN.

so what? ;)

she question your dog?
question her intellegence,her kindness,her non-existing heart!!!
she was just stupid.
ignore her.i bet lots of people that know her,do so... :)

besides, a pure bred or not, you love it the same and everythiing is the same.

I looked in your gallery at pictures of Roxy, and she looks like a boxer to me. Her size is not even out of the range for a female! My Roxy only weighs about 52 and I have fought to have every one of those pounds on her! She is a very picky eater. 55 is not too small. Poor sweet, Roxy.

just ignore it...

Dixie is also on the small side (1 1/2 yrs. and 52 lbs.), but I know she's full Boxer. Let Roxy get that Boxer tongue going...then they'll know she's a REAL Boxer.

I don't understand why I keep hearing people refer to their 50-55lb Boxers as small?! Females are supposed to range between 50-60 pounds, so both of the above mentioned Boxers could not be any more normal.

The4leggedone - your female is 52 lbs and still has another year of filling out to do (where she can easily gain 10+ pounds). She might actually be considered large :)

She sure looks like she's all boxer to me, but who cares? You saved her, you love her, that's all that matters. Since DH and I got Tessa, we have learned very quickly how ignorant some people are. (Mistaken for a pit, she looks mean...you've heard all the stupid remarks). Let this one slide of your back. Ignorance is bliss to some people.

By the way, I think she's beautiful!

Exactly!!! I have seen & been around Boxer's in all sizes, honestly I love them all... Now hubby is a different story. He prefer's dog's on the larger end of the weight spectrum. Either way don't sweat it, who cares what they think, "In one ear & out the other". :)

Virtually all of my girls run between 50-60 pounds. I have had a couple of small girls that weighed 48 pounds. And a few that weighed over 60. 55 pounds is very normal.

:)
