hey folks,
i'm just wondering how many of you have dogs that are early morning dogs, because i certainly do not. i think i'm the only person on the planet who has to beg their dog to get out of bed. everyone i know has their dog wagging their tails, ready to go for a walk first thing in the morning. as it is, it's like pullin gteeth to get my Murphy out and about.
just wanted to se...
thanks..

As Ozzy is getting older he is sleeping in more! yes! My rottie will sleep till noon if you let him. I always think his bladder is going to burst  Ozzy waits for the first person to get up.

3 out of my 5 are not morning people at all  Layla will actually first get out of bed at around 9 or 10 in the morning (on a rainy day her record has been 2 in the afternoon!). Amy gets our of bed at around 8 and Bindi about then as well. Layla has been like this since she was a baby  On the other hand Bella and Ruben are raring to go as soon as we get up :)

The sleepy-heads are really active in the late afternoon / early evening, and Bella and Ruben are resting up by then.

Brando is definitely NOT a morning person. I take him out between 6:30 and 7am every morning before I go to work and I almost have to drag him out and sometimes I even have to bribe him with a treat!

It's been worse with it being winter we have the central heating timed to come on first thing in the morning and he can't wait to get straight back into his bed and get warm next to the radiator! ha ha ha!

Both of mine are not morning dogs... it's like people, we are all different..

It's funny when I get up early, I'll wake the puppy up to tell her to pee... but I give her the command and she'll look at me grogingly as if she's never heard of the command before...that silly sleepy head.

I have 2 boxer puppies 10 & 11 months & NEITHER of them like early mornings! On the weekends they sleep on my bed & they DO NOT get up before 11.00! They seem to have more energy towards the end of the day! (maybe they take after me?) Anyway I think its soooooo cute that u have trouble getting your babies up in the morning! :) So dont worry, your not alone!

If I didn't have to get up early to go to work, Beasley would sleep until noon...I honestly think the only reason he bothers to surface from underneath his down comforter (okay, the comforter is actually mine, but he seems to weasel it from me every night) is because he thinks he might miss out on something (hmmm...like breakfast) if he's not up with me in the morning! sleepicon

I think my 3 would stay in bed all day if I let them.
Holly, the pup usually needs to go pee in the early AM, but will go right back to bed if Belle and Copper are still there. Because she's still young, I don't think she has developed her own sleeping habits yet, but does whatever the other two are doing LOL.

Belle will usually insist on staying in bed until she is ready to get up, regardless of what anyone else is doing. Copper is up dancing on the bed with bum wiggling and tail wagging the minute the alarm goes off, regardless of what time that is.

Cheers

Heh heh, my boys are a mixed lot. Buster is definitely NOT a morning dog. He'll find any excuse not to wake up in the morning.

We have a set routine where both boys go out into the yard for their 'business' and then come back in to have their milk. Nothing short of physical pulling/pushing will get Buster out of bed.

Should I decide to sleep in, however, they'll both be happy to curl up with me and wake up only when I do. Even if that's 1:00pm.
