Hey people, as I said in the introductions forum I am new to boxer owning but have some good backround with dogs since i had some german shepherds, a halfbreed and a bull terrier.
A friend of mine gave me as a gift my boxie "Thor", i love him for sure and he is a really nice and healthy puppy (VET agrees too :P )

but I am having hard time when i look at his nose...i mean OK bull had long nose but it was supposed to, Germans too... how about the boxie in the pictures bellow???
I could use some opinion coming from boxer owners.

Are you wanting to know if others think he is a mix?
He doesn't have the typical-standard Boxer head. Hard to tell from the pictures you provided. A side shot would give a more accurate picture. The only side shot isn't directly taken from the side and angles don't always do a picture justice in situations like these.
It appears as if he has a longer than normal snout for a Boxer and again hard to tell if his jaw is undershot (underbite).
All that being said the head is traditionally the first thing to go (so to speak) when non-standard Boxers are bred and is also a common trait lost when one dog isn't a Boxer in the pairing (parents).
My girl is from champion parents and I have a couple of "baby" pictures of her around 12 weeks old and her snout appears to be a bit longer than normal but it was a direct result of the camera angle. She actually has a really nice head.
It is so hard to judge on pictures sometimes.
At any rate he is certainly a cutie who I am sure will give you years of love!

do not mistaken me, i am not asking if he is a mix or not...i am just trying to figure out if at his age the head is about right, anyway...I am sure he will love me as much as I do love him.
As for the side shot....try to make him stand still ...mission impossible...he is boxer in attitude for sure :P

My girl has a longer nose than standard for a boxer, but she is totally all boxer for sure. So, if the parents did not meet the standards for a boxer, then the pups will not be of standard stature either. Not to say they aren't the cutest boxers ever anyways!

His nose is not right for a boxer his age. The nose slant is not right and it doesn't have a good stop. He is probably poorly bred. :( He is still a cutie and I am sure he will have all the boxer personality, which is the most important thing.

He has undershot as far as i can tell, his body structure is boxer...I do not care about the length of the nose...i just want the cheeks to grow larger so he can give me the boxer "smile" and i will be more than happy, his parents are boxer but yes he is probably poorly bred, i will keep posting pictures as he grows...
In any case he is my four legged son!!!!
Thank you for sharing thoughts with me.... I really needed that, please feel free to give me more opinions.

What do you think about his color and mask?

He has a nice mask. His color is fine. He will be a good looking boxer when he grows up. :)

I agree that he will be a very cute boxer! And I find with the longer snoot, they always seem to look young and inquisitive as opposed to some squishy faces that seem to always look grumpy lol. Lily is 6 now, graying muzzle, but still looks like a puppy to me.
