No offense, but... huh? Don't think we'll get much support for moving the North Carolina Bash to Cali!

To those interested in the NC Bash, we are back to working on it in earnest. We have hit a few road blocks in finding a location for 20 +/- dogs off leash - but Xenolith and I will continue to work on that aspect.

If anybody has a location that they know of in the Charlotte Metro area, that will allow off-leash play, please let one of us know so that we can follow-up on it. I'd rather know of way too many than none

And we're still looking at a date in Mid-October.

To all you North Carolinians out there....

I don't know if your bash ever happened in October or not, but I'd love for us to get together another one for early spring. Did you all ever find a cool off leash place to meet? We're in the Winston-Salem area and would be willing to drive up to 2 hours.

We are in Cary and would be willing to drive about 2hours. Cary is right in the middle of Raleigh/Durham /RTP area. Rocky desperatly needs some boxer friends, other pups just don't do it for him. I vote for something in the spring as well. It will be a nice change from the dogs being cooped up over the winter.

I believe that sounds like a good idea. I have only lived in NC for a few months and I am not real sure where Denver, NC is but as long as it isn't too long of a drive from Durham we would consider it. Do you have any hotels in the area that accept pets. That may work for those of us that have to travel a long way.

Glitterbox..there are boxers nearer to you than you realize. I am only a 20 minute drive from you. I live between Shelby and Kings Mountain. Looking forward to meeting everyone and their boxers when the day arrives!

Hey Yall!!! I just saw a post about interest in a Boxer Bash in Asheville. I haven't actually taken our babies to the dog park here so I cannot vouch for the quality but I think that would be AWESOME to have one near here! I would also consider coming to the one in Charlotte if it gets off the ground.
Maybe if there is interest, I could find out about the parks here in Asheville :D

Sandy: yeah, here's your progress update...ZERO! I have done nothing further on it lately and Josh has disapperared for a while. Somebody motivate me!

NRODRIGUEZ: There is already a Triangle Bash group that gets together at the Research Forest an NCSU - check for posts by HardcastleA and myrocky or PM one of them - myrocky can be found in chat as a chat moderator in the evenings too, usually signed in as "Andie". Also, mskerritt was trying to do something in Wilmington area too.

BlsMySol: The laws in Asheville have changed and dogs must be on-leash at all times except on private property or at the dog park, including the parks. The dogpark would not be a good place for an organized bash due to the amount of use it already gets, and at last count there were almost 30 dogs and families that had expressed interest. Add that to the 20-40 dogs using the dogpark already on weekends and it could get ugly. We have had several mini-bashes at the dogpark usually 3-5 dogs or so from Boxer World plus several local boxers, several of us also go on Sunday afternoon hikes with an assortment of dogs.

Does the group still want to stay centralized in the Charlotte area so that it's accessible to everybody? Any other ideas?

I know it's been awhile since you guys posted on this thread, but I would love to get our boxers together. I have never been to a boxer bash (my baby is only 12 wks. old), but I'd love to meet some fellow Boxerworld members and your furbabies! I live in the Morganton area, anyone near me? I would be willing to travel a couple hours also.

I'm from Wilmington and would love to go myself. I know a couple of ladys that live here that have 15 boxers between the two. They all have Championships in show and agility as well a CGC. Maybe I could get up with them and they could come and give us all some information and maybe a few demonstrations with their dogs. We have quite a few parks here, even one with a horse ring that we could rent for a day. You could also enjoy the beach while you're here. Anyway, Have Boxer Will Travel. Let me know.
