Normal post neuter ?

Hello all.....Jersey got neutered yesterday morning...and 24 hours later has yet to eat or drink anything? He is still going pee and has had an upset tummy a few times... How long before I should get really worried about his lack of hunger and thirst?

Yes, it is fairly normal. Lots of dogs (and people!) are nauseous for quite some time after an anasthetic.

Not eating isn't really a concern, but it would be a good idea to encourage him to drink a little if you can. Giving him ice chips/cubes, adding a little milk to his water, or giving him some broth (no salt) are worthwhile things to try there.

thanks for the reply ... I was worried about the water intake also... I will try an ice cube when he wakes from his nap .... zzzzzzzzzzzz

Just an update.....Jersey is doing much better this morning....he did not eat or drink (except for licking peanut butter off an ice cube) until 3 pm yesterday ... This morning he ate a full meal and drank 1/2 bowl of water .... He even decided it was time to play and had a good old roll around with his rope... He has not tried to lick his incision very much and it seems to have very little to no bruising or swelling.... Thanks

Good to hear he's feeling better LOL - now you've got the next week to look forward to trying to keep him reasonably quiet
