Hi List,

The other day hubby was mowing the grass and we had the dogs outside in the kennel so they could enjoy some of the sunshine and not get in the way. This man pulls up into the driveway and starts to get out. That right there put hubby on alert. The man starts pointing at Creed and said, "Hey! I lost my boxer and I'm sure that's him." Hubby said, "No, that's my dog" But the guy kept insisting that's his boxer. So after about 5 mins. hubby told him, look buddy that's my boxer, my wife bought me that dog and if you so much as look at him again I'm going to kick your a**! The guy got the message and quickly jumped back in his car and left. It's hubby's 3rd child and he was not letting him go for anything, but now I'm on constant alert this creep will try again when hubby's not home. Heaven help anyone that comes between a family and their boxer!

I don't blame you

I don't blame you for being creeped out. I hope that they guy got the message and won't try anything funny while your hubby isn't home. Good luck

That is too much! Sounds like what my hubby would say, if he even said anything and didn't just do it. He feels the same about our dogs. Heaven help the someone who does step between a boxer and their family! Cause nobody else would be able to.

Of course there is a little part of me that feels bad and understands that poor man must be so upset about loosing his beloved boxer baby. Hope he finds him/her and comes and apoligizes!

That would totally creep me out too. I feel bad for the guy if he really lost his boxer but it is obvious he had the wrong dog. I am always paranoid about people looking at my dogs especially now after losing Wynnie. Keep a careful eye on them.

How nervewracking! Is Creed microchipped or tatooed? I was just thinking that IF this guy tries anything else, you would have proof of who Creed's family really is.

I would not assume that this guy actually lost his boxer. I'd be nervous too. You don't leave your dogs outside unattended do you? I hope you got his license plate number just incase.

I agree with Heather on the microchipping and if he isn't then get it done ASAP. This guy sounds like a creep who wants your dog and not because he lost his if you get my point. Don't leave Creed unattended outside and if he has papers keep them handy to show the guy if he ever comes back. Also keep this incident documented so if he comes back you can write that down as well then call the cops. Maybe this seems over the top but I don't take any chances when it comes to my kids :D

IMHO people who have lost an animal and think they have spotted it would notifiy the authories or AC and go take a look escorted.

How scary! I would have asked him WHY on earth he thought this was his dog and gotten his name/address/plate # whatever I could get. I would have DEMANDED proof - and probably called the police just to put it on record.

Thank goodness it worked out ok - I hope you never hear from this guy again.

I would definitly be on my guard. I know if some (psycho) hehe came up to me and accused me of having his dog, it would be on!!! My dogs are my life, you threaten one you threaten all. Sounds like the musketeers, "one for all and all for one"
I am more the emotional type then my husband (as many know) so Pat would handle the situation a little more clear headed then i would. I think i would have gotten a little vocial if this guy approached me like that.

Keep an eye out and be safe!!

I don't ever leave Creed out by himself, he just doesn't know enough to be leary of anybody. Sunny has a big bad bark and people get very cautious of him and usually stay clear of our house. He let's me know right away if someone is around.

In one hand I can see him being upset if he did loose his dog, but his approach was way out of line. I would never think of doing that. He's going to be under a very close eye that's for sure. Creed's not chipped or tattooed, although I have considered it. Our collie's tattooed, but he came that way and I've never had a problem with people stealing our pets, but I'm finding out boxers are in demand and mostly for the wrong reasons.smashicon smashicon

Thanks for listening:)
