Hello, It's me again and now I need to know what to do for my baby girl Ashley. First it was the throwing up and now I started her on fish and white potatoes (boiled) and she doesn't poop! We've walked and walked and still no poop. I thought maybe it was that I gave her a little bit of food and she didn't have enough food in her system to poop. But this morning no poop on her morning walk. What should I do? Oh yeah, the throwing up has stopped!

I wouldn't panic yet. Her system was probably so depleted it's just holding on to something that it can finally digest. I'd give it another day and as long as she's eating, drinking and playing try not to stress too much. Hopefully it just means she's actually digesting this food and not having it run right through her without the benefit of any nutrition.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Not much info to go on. Perhaps you had another thread that I missed.

How long since she had a bowel movement? Has she attempted to have a bowel movement, going through the motions, but nothing happened?

Have you checked with your vet to get their advice?

A phone call should answer most of your questions. They'll ask for the particular info they need to determine whether she needs to be watched for the next day or so, or needs to be seen.

Other than what you mentioned, is she drinking and urinating normally? Is there any change in her activity level or temperament?

You may be correct regarding not needing to have a movement because of a lack of stool due to vomitting, or it could be a blockage from ingesting something that cannot pass through.

If Indy or Ava was going through that, I'd call the vet.

After Mya's bout with the flu, it took her almost a full 2 days to poop. And it was a 1/4 of the normal amount. It was about a week before she returned to normal.

Poor girl. Glad to hear she hasn't thrown up. Like Lisa said, it if a day or 2, I would not worry too much. It too Porter a coupld of days to get back to normal and his poopie was a little loose at first. If it goes past 2 days, I would give the vet a call and get her in to be sure there is no obstruction. Is she eating and drinking normally? Is she her nutty boxerself?
