I take my 10 week old puppy for long 30-45 minute walks and she never seems to pee during those walks. She does poop on the walks though...

The minute we return into my condo she will let loose on my hardwood floors!

I understand she is very young and most likely does not understand quite yet.

I have tried treats and extreme praise when she does pee outside (which has been very few times!) She seems very focused on me when outside and not focused on having a pee LOL!

That stinks! Caney is the same way. Except she can make it to the backyard without messing the floor :p But she rarely pees or poops on walks. I think it's a leash thing.... but then lots of times I take her off the lead quite a bit so she can "go," but still she waits 'til she's at home to do her business. Guess that's her comfort zone

Once though we were running on a trail through the woods, about our 2nd mile she haults mid-sprint and poops right in the middle of the path! Of course I had given her plenty of opportunities to "go" to the SIDE of the path during the previous 2 miles. She couldn't hold out for the backyard that time!

Have you tried taking him off the leash somewhere safe? Maybe that will help get things going.... ;) Other than that just be ready to carry him back outside once you get home.

I have a small fenced in area behind my condo that has a big patch of grass and I let her off the leash there for 20-30 mins... she poops there all the time but has only peed there about 4 times so far...

I strongly believe that she thinks that peeing is BAD all together... inside or out...

I know I need to be patient :)

No advice, but thought I'd offer to trade ya. :) Tyson pees constantly on walks (even if he pees before hand) and poops about 2 times. That is in an hour walk. We only do hour walks about 3 times a day.

She is very young yet, and probably would rather interact with you than do her business. Is there somewhere you can take her repeatedly and let her off leash for a few minutes before starting your walk, some dogs are very focused on peeing and/or pooping in the same place. If there isn't, maybe you might try taking her somewhere on her leash and just loitering around for 10-15 minutes before you actually go walking. After a few minutes of not actually walking somewhere she might go and you could praise her for it. SuzyQ has the run or our property and her leashed walks are more for entertainment than exercise or necessity. She rarely will go at all on her leash. They are all different.

Well it seems that we've taken a major step as of last night!

London did her business (1 & 2) 3 times yesterday evening and twice this morning...

I will be taking her to the small leash free area outside my condo to do her business and then we go for a walk.

Was I ever proud of her!!! I gave her double treats :D

Thanks for the advice all!
