No more "foster" dog

I knew I shouldn't attempt to foster. We've had Sammie, who I promised DH would be temporary, for about a month. She's such a great dog and I love her...so I'm keeping her. If I ever find someone who without a doubt would take better care of her than me, I'll give her away...very unlikely. Now how to tell DH?

Well, do you have to tell him? Or do you think that he might just figure this one out on his own when Sammie has been around for a few years.
