My Ginger is 2 1/2 years old. She is still in her crate during the day and does wonderfully. No more potty accidents. The problem is at night. The routine is to let her outside before bed. I am starting to stand with her and my other dog and praise both for going in the yard. When I get up in the morning Ginger has peed and pooped on the back porch. She never makes a motion to wake me up during the night. I have even tried taking up the water before bed. I know that she can hold it for more than 8 hours - any rainy day is evidence of this! The vet has checked her & no infections or other problems. We did crate one night one the suggestion of the vet & aside from her crying to be with us, she didn't have any accidents. I don't know what to do. I did read in another thread to not clean up the mess in front of the dog. I am glad that she goes to the back porch & not in the living room, but I'd like to be able to enjoy a "fragrance free" porch! I am open to any suggestions! If this has been addressed elsewhere, please point me in that direction.
