Our Boxer (Pogo) is about eight months old. We had a few weeks when we first got her as a puppy where we had to get up 2-3 times in the night to let her out, which was expected. Since then she has been doing quite well, until recently. She now wants to go out at least once, sometimes twice during the night. Is there anything we can do for this, or is it something she may grow out of (again)?

hello,my rudy (10 month old male) was crated at night till he was 8 months, now he sleeps in bed with us. we keep the door shut and he sleeps all night,,,we let him out at about 10:00 pm before we go to bed and he always goes all night without going outside. he wakes us up at 7:00 every morning and wants out.. it's kinda like a routine,,,so to answer your question yes i really think he will be much better in about a month or so,,,when he can hold his blatter longer with age.

I think it may be the age she is at. My dog is 8 months old as well and it seems he has taken a step backwards when holding it. He doesn't have accidents but we can take him out at 1:00 am and he is whining by 5:45 am to go outside. We know he can hold it because he has done it for months prior. Hopefully it's just a stage they are going through. I was thinking about letting him start sleeping on his bed in our room instead of his crate but we just found out we are expecting a baby so I'd rather keep him in his crate downstairs with having a baby in the room eventually.

our baby is 11 mths old and up and till xmas we have had the top section of our yard fenced so no one could get into that area or the house via the back door except through the house - this was great it allowed brandy if she needed to go through the night to take herself for the toilet stop as the door was always left open enough for her to get out - now we have taken down her enclosure - she's a big girl now and loves having the full yard to play in which means we now have to close and lock the back door at night which has created a little problem - she is used to going by herself without waking us - now begins the training again to wake me if she needs out - we take her out around 10pm before bed then if i get up through the night which is usual i take her out again 1am or 2am and then around 5am usual get up time in our house for work the door is open and away she goes. some nights no problems other nights i find the accidents right at the door - cant say anything because i didn't here her go out there - funny thing is if we give in and allow her to sleep all night on our bed she doesn't have to go at all - spolit dog - yet my inlaws dog goes all night without having to go out side - i guess it just takes time and age lol

Trinity just recently has started wanting to go out in the middle of the night. When she was relaly young we would have to take her once a night, then she started sleeping through the night without needing a break, but the last few months (she's 11 months now) she's been waking up to go outside at 3-4 am. I think it has something to do with the last time we take her out at night. Now that the weather is so cold we don't take her out as much at night smashicon It seems if we let her out at about 10 pm or so she'll be good the whole night through, but anything earlier you may wake up to a whining Boxer!

Thanks everyone.

Just to be sure we're going to check for a urinary infection. She seems to have to pee an awful lot for the amount of water she drinks.

We take her out between 10 and 11pm at night, and she's been having to get up around 2am to go out.

We'll see.
