It's funny when i think about it, but I rarely call Bodie by his name directly. Seems like just like our kids, we give love nicknames to our puppies...usually it's Bud, Buddy, Bodielicious, Boders, or Bodiferous...he will answer to any of them!
When we first got Maximus we made a switch to TOTW dog food. Out of all the types his favorite was bison. I was doing some research on where the boxer breed came from at the same time. One website said the breed was descended from the German bullenbeisser which meant “bull biter” so he quite naturally became my “Bison Beisser”. Why, I really don’t know because he will “beisser” anything you put in his dish.
My Charlie (boxer) is called several different things All are used on pretty much a daily basis.

Jersey (mystery mutt) is mostly called Nibbles. . She likes to nibble with she gives kisses.
Thora doesn't have many nicknames just yet. My staple is "Peanut" and when she's in one of her moods, "Thora Monsta." DH calls her "Thora-loo" and "Little Miss."
Tuff was universally known as "Tuffer" by everyone and my pet name for him was "hammy ham" (yeah i don't know, haha). DH always called him "Mr. Awesome"
