Hello everyone,

My name is Isi and I live in Brooklyn NY. I have been researching the boxer breed well over a year now as it is my favorite. After much reading I decided that its finally time to bring a puppy home. For various reasons the European Boxer appealed more to me and after much work and a little luck my puppy is going to be here this Wednesday evening.

I've done alot of research on ear cropping, (its a hotly debated topic nowadays) and have decided that although I preferr the cropped look I will first look at the ears and their texture before making a final decision.

I look forward to being a contributing member of this forum and hopefully I will gain alot from other members.

Good luck with your new puppy, bet you cannot wait til wednesday! I prefer natural ears, but then they don't crop ears in Britian so they are strange sight to me. Alot of vets are against tail docking aswell, boxers just don't look the same with a tail. My boxer saffie has natural ears but her tail is docked.

I personally like the uncropped ears. Just my personal opinion.

Hello Isi,
I'm a newbie as well and I'm also originally from Brooklyn. I live in Oklahoma now. I too was considering cropping the ears on my boxer (Leila) but decided against it. She looks great with them the way they are. Just thought I give my opinion. Welcome aboard!!

My boxer Joep (a dutch name) is my first dog. He has complete ears and a tail and I love it. I think a boxer looks more friendly with uncutted ears. And about his tail: you can see how he's feeling. The tail can be up or down. I cannot imagine my dog without a tail.

I want to thank everyone that responded, I appreciate it.

I know alot of people are concerned with the ethical issue of cropping or not....I still haven't decided. I have alot of adrenaline rushing through me thinking about finally getting to hold him. I've seen many pictures and its only teasing so far....I feel like a little kid! Tomorrow is almost here!!!
