Hello! About a month ago, we switched Sydney and Oscar to a raw diet. They have been doing so well. Any weird "poo problems" are pretty non-existent anymore and they look terrific. Oscar - a very petite fellow - has finally started to fill out a bit and is now 40 lbs. Sydney is approx. 50 lbs. now.

We have started by feeding 1/2 pre-made raw and 1/2 chicken. We are feeding Bravo Blends for the pre-made and rotate through 5 lb. rolls of beef, turkey and lamb blend. They have done well on all varieties. For the chicken, I started w/ wings, then necks, then backs and this week we are trying the cages. Both my kids seem to do wll on about 2 lbs. of food per day, so they get 1 lb. of pre-made and approx. 1 lb. of raw chicken split between a morning and evening meal.

I would like to branch out further with some different RMBs and would like some BW recommendations.

Also, based on what I'm feeding now, is there anything I need to add or any supplements they should be getting?

Thank you so much for your advice!

Have you tried pork? Luka ADORES pork and it's cheap. I feed it just as often as chicken and turkey, plus the bones are consumable. I get baby back ribs and pork shoulder roasts. Country picnic ribs are just sliced shoulder and can be a tad sharp, (so can chops and necks) but if the price is good, I'll just debone it if needed. Once a week or so, I'll feed thru a 4 lb pork shoulder, just cutting off large 1 lb chunks each day.

The other thing I noticed about your post is that you are seperately introducing a different body part- there is no need. It's just the different meats that need to go slow. Being that you are already feeding the mixed rolls with no problems (I assume no problems), then you can feed any parts from those meats already introduced. Just make sure that it's not too much bone. Should be more meat than anything.

It sounds like you are doing pretty good. They are already getting a fairly food variety. You could add pork, duck, vennison, fish, and buffalo etc. Anything goes really. :)

Thanks for your responses. Yes, they have been doing great on all the blend varieties so I will definitley go ahead and start trying some beef and lamb -- and pork! -- the babies will be so happy :)

It is wonderful to see that they enjoy their food now. I had to practically beg them to eat kibble -- even the very best.

One quick question on pork - I noticed a local market had pork necks on sale. Are those considered recreational bones or are they consumable?

Pork necks are fine. They don't usually have a lot of meat on them, so I would try and get meaty ones or add an a little additional meat.
