Hello, My name is Dean and we live in South Louisiana. We have been with our new family pet Reggie (fawn male w/ black mask) for 1 week now. This is the first Boxer we have owned so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to BW.
The best advice for a new boxer owner is to be patient. (sp)
New boxers are like kids, you get back what you put into them.
Give them lots of love, never a harsh hand, and they will repay you with a lifetime of love, joy, fun, laughter, etc......

First, be prepared to become addicted to the breed! They are loyal, loveable, smart and strong! And always entertaining!
Seriously, be firm and consistent in your discipline. They love to please you, and will respond positively. Spend a lot of time with your pup, not only in obedience but in play and cuddling. Make sure your pup gets plenty of exercise. Finally, from experience, carry a towelor paper towel with you at all times. Mine loves to wipe his face off on me every chance he gets.
Welcome to Boxer World!

Hi

Boxers are so much fun. You will find that out soon enough. Im shure you lil.guy already has a personality of his own. I was just telling someone about potty traning I have a 5 month old lil man and he is still working at it. Any ways I hang bells on the door knobs and have him pawl it we he goes out. When your not paying attention you will hear the bell and he has to go out.
It took dozer a while to pick it up but we are still working on it. Good Luck!!

Hi....I'm Robin. My family & I live in Hammond, LA. It's been about 8 years since we've had a boxer (Katie Mae passed away in 1997)....we're waiting on a beautiful reverse brindle male . . . we can bring him home in 5 weeks!!

Welcome!!

Hello and welcome to BW. I live in Baton Rouge Louisiana, and I also just got my first boxer. She is 10 weeks old. She is such a joy. Patience and consistency is key with boxers. I have learned that much already. Can't wait to hear more and see some pictures!! We need to form a boxer bash somewhere around here....seems like there are alot of Louisiana boxer owners here.
