Hi everyone,

I've been reading this forum for a while and have finally become a member. I wanted to read up before we brought home our baby. He's 4 1/2 months now and such a beautiful boy.

Just wanna say thanks, 'cos this forum has helped us heaps already, and also makes you feel better when you see that others are going through the same things, eg. biting!!!!!! Our Hendrix is very easily excitable and when he gets excited he starts biting. I'll just have to be patient, I've read they grow out of it.............don't they?

Fawn male, black muzzle, natural ears, and a tail with a white tip!

Hi Laura, thanks for the welcome and the encouragment!

Another Aussie! Hi Mygirlmollie,
Thanks for the welcome. Hendrix is our first boxer, my partner grew up with a friend who owned a boxer and has always wanted one. I did alot of research and found out that I adored them too!

We love his tail (for those who don't know, tail docking recently became illegal in SA, Australia). Everyone who sees him comments because it's so unusual to see a boxer with a tail, but soon it will be the norm! Now that he's getting bigger I can see the potential for things to go flying off our coffee table when he gets excited though!

Once I work out how to put photos in the gallery, I'll put some in with his tail showing (because, like any new parents, we aren't lacking in photos of Hendrix!)

Hi amandaryl,

Great to hear from another Adelaidian, I'm from down south, Trott Park.
I just had a look at your gallery and your baby looks very similar to mine!
I'll post some pictures soon.

Welcome

Hello and welcome fellow Aussie!

What a cutie! My boy is 10 months old and also my first boxer. They are the most addorable and engaging breed I have ever owned.

Have fun with him and remember that mental stimulation is important for boxeres due to their highly intelligent brains.... it helped my boy reduce his destructive streak.

I think I'm going to have a lot of trouble adjusting to a tail when the time comes that I need a new Boxer lol! I've known them to long without them...
I'll sure miss those wagging nubby's.

It's nice to see so many Aussies these days :)

Hi Aussieboxer,

Thanks for the advice. Hendrix hasn't started being too destructive as yet, but he's just started going to the toilet inside all of a sudden. Maybe it's his way of trying to tell me something i.e he's bored, or not getting enough attention.
I'm going to start taking him to a doggy day care place near me for a couple of afternoon's a week. Hopefully this will help and I'm sure he'll enjoy it there!

Thanks again to everyone for all the warm welcomes!
