Okay I can do the weekend of the 18/19th but it would have to be on Sunday, late afternoon/ early evening after my guests have left - of course you can start it whenever you want, but I really want to be there for some of it if possible. So we should probably pick a date and then I'll put up some flyers at NYC dog runs to let people know. If we decide soon enough I'll even call in an ad to Time Out New York, which I think is free.

I guess I'm voting for Sunday, May 19th at... 3pm.
Robert's dog run on 42nd st. between 1st ave and the FDR - right in the shadow of the UN with a view of the beautiful East River.

Anyone second the motion?

Sorry- the 19th does not work for me or KJLTKE :( (he's Prince's daddy :D )- that is why we had intially selected the 18th.

I guess we are back to Memorial Day weekend, no one has said that they can't make it then, so it may work...I'll field the question- anyone up for Saturday May 25?

I guess everyone write back and let us know if they will be around on the 25th...early evening I am guessing, so it's cooler for the pups...like 4ish?

Anyone else in??? (i certainly hope so...so everyone spread the word to all the boxer owners you know!)

poeyman: are you still down w/ advertising around you in manhattan and in TONY? let me know if you need any help...keith and i can post info in our area in queens...aren't too many boxers, but it can't hurt to advertise- the more boxers, the merrier! oh, and do we need to reserve the dog run or is it open and available whenever?

I'll take care of Madison and Washington Square Parks - and I'll put something up at Robert's dog run too - though there isn't a poster board there... Anyway, yes it's a public dog run so we'll definitely be able to use it - and it shouldn't be too crowded. I go there many times and find it empty. It may not be exclusively Boxers there but here's hoping we have a good turn-out!

Okay I just emailed Time Out - so it should be on display the week after next. This is what I wrote - I thought 'annual' had a more professional ring to it.

1st Annual Boxer-Bash

Robert's Dog Run on 42nd St. between 1st ave and the FDR

My new pup has been great, However any recommendations / advice on helping him with his teething would be welcomed. I have plenty of chew toys of all shapes, sizes, textures, etc...I look forward to meeting everyone next month.

My sister took a dishtowel, wet it down slightly and froze it. Then she would play with her puppy by holding one end firmly while the puppy got to teeth and attack the other end. It was nice and soft and the ice was good for the teething. I also have heard cardboard is good, but not sure about that one yet.

I will be recieving my new boxer in June. He will be 8 weeks old. So please keep up the bashes until my baby is old enough to attend. I live in Dutchess Conty, New York but I'm orginally from Westchester and my husband is from Brooklyn. We are in NYC almost every weekend to visit family. I will be looking forward to the upcoming bashes.
