New to the Boxer World and Have a Few ?'s

The silly things boxers do.....isn't it great. They are so curious all the time. Lacey found a baby pacifier out in our yard...few years back. She played with that thing forever. Sucking on it and tossing it in the air. She kept the neighbors entertained also. Nothing like a boxer to put a smile on persons face.

What I Think

I have owned a boxer for 6 yrs. now.And I can tell you first hand they can jump high.Mine can clear a privacy fence.She is a avarge size female.But all dog are different.ANd about the price of the puppy's is a little high but it all depends on the quaility of the dog.From the sounds of it with no shots yet Someone is just trying to make some money.<<edited>>I think it all depends on how they are health wise and the color.But thats only my thoughts.

I respectfully disagree. It depends on what part of the country you are in, the pedigree of the parents and demand for that area. It can easily go up to 1000, I would guess the norm is more along the lines of 700 on these boards from what I have read.

It costs a heck of alot more for quality pets. There are many threads on these boards by quality breeders who do all the proper testing and such who can charge over 700 a pup and still lose money on a litter. More then a few times I have seen the money break down on these boards when it is down right and it is amazing how fast it goes.

FIRST TIME BOXER OWNER

hI TO ALL FIRST TIME BOXER OWNER.I paid 1050 for my boxer a male fawn from hungarin breeder.Any sugestions?Did I pay to much?

MAXSUNNY - I personally wouldn't have paid that much for a puppy!!! That's just me though. The most we paid for out kids was $550 and that was for Apollo. I don't even think we'll go that route again!!! Next time, we'll go to the rescue or pound and save a poor pup! But - you are in New York and Boxers are very popular now, so it might be justified in your area, just not to me!!!

wow! i got my baby libby for only $250! she had her tail done too....she was 6wks. about the fence.....we had her penned in an area with a 4 ft. tall peice of sheetrock and she scalled that thing at 3months! i would be worried about a dog that age of this breed with a fence that short.
