Duka

Boxer Pal
Hi everyone,

We recently adopted Duka from a dog shelter in Italy. He's about 1 1/2 years old. We weren't sure that he was 100% Boxer as my wife and I weren't very familiar with the breed (not to mention his big floppy ears and long tail).

After checking out the gallery on this forum and reading the "Boxer Traits" post he's qualified! All boxer :D jumping, snorting, gaseous, stealing, etc.

We have a question for you experienced boxer parents. How did stop your Boxers from jumping, growling and anklebiting when they want to play? We'll be happy to hear from you!

Thanks,

Dukas parents

As far as the jumping goes I don't think it ever stops. They just get so excited that even if you train them and they are disciplined they will still do it every once in a while. The ankle biting is a puppy thing. If you keep on them (negative word marker not hitting) they will eventually grow out of it. Just be patient.

Welcome to BW!! We were very persistent with Hammer because he was a real snapper! He bit anything his mouth came into contact with. We use the command "no bite" and after lots of repetition he doesn't bite much anymore! Of course, he thinks his name is No Bite now.
