Boxer Pal
Hi I am new, my 21 year old son just got a brindle boxer pup and since I insisted that no puppy be left alone I get to puppy sit while he works. He has named him Bruno and as much as I didn't think I had any room in my life for a dog (let alone a large dog) since I have a cat and 3 birds, the puppy has already found a place in our family. The cat is warming up to him and the birds are pretty much unfazed. We never take our eyes off Bruno what with the potty training and the general oversight puppies need so things have gone pretty smoothly. The first vet check is tomorrow. I have never had a particular breed of dog, usually a rescued mutt from the pound so this is a whole different experience for me. So far this board has enlightened me on quite a few subjects such as the calm and positive training and the tips for keeping big dogs from jumping on people. I have already instituted the no biting of people and gently direct him to a toy when he tries. I am sure this board will be a great source of infromation and encouragement. I found similar help with my birds this way and it was invaluable.
