New to BW! What do you think about harnesses?

My 5 month old girl Lucy is still having trouble walking on a leash with a regular collar. She will pull until I am afraid she'll choke herself, so therefore I don't walk her as often as I know I should (so I feel guilty!). I am considering getting her a harness to try, because she won't be choking herself. What do you think? Anybody had success with these? Thanks!

Now this is just my opinnion....but i had the same issues with my 14 week old...and what i did was i tried the harness,,,and returned it...as the real problem was me...i realized i was THE LEADER not NINA and this solved the problem of pulling.....everytime she pulled i stopped dead in my tracks and said LISTEN dont pull....i must have done this over 100 times...but it worked...she had realized ...she pulls=no walking....after 2 days...she was a joy to walk
I really do not belive in any special harnesses but lots of praise and rewards for proper behavior

We had the same problem and wanted a harness. We ended up getting a Sporn No-Pull Harness....www.sporn.com This worked great on her for weeks until she figured out how to walk down the street on her hind legs....Now that she is older (21 months on Christmas day), she walks well with me on a regular collar, minimal pulling when she sees something interesting, but hubby still swears by the sporn.
