Hi I am new to BoxerWorld, and I am so glad to have found this. I have already read so much wonderful information. We (my husband and I) live in Clifton Park, NY and have a 14 mth old boxer boy named Rocco. He is a flashy brindle and is about 70 lbs. Rocco is the love of our lives. We got Rocco for Christmas last year in Wisconsin (where I am from) and flew him home to Conneticut and we just recently moved to New York. We are very interested in getting another boxer when we get a house. We now live in an apartment and it's hard enough with one. I look forward to talking and sharing information with all of you.

I am trying to post pictures of my baby and I am having problems. I am new to posting and if anyone can help me step by step that would be great. Anytime I try a picture the site says it's too big. I don't know how to make them smaller. It's driving me crazy.

Hi Rocco's Mom, welcome to BW. I understand about downloading pictures. I got determined after several attempts and read through the entire "computer forum" section on BW. By doing this, I found two free download sites to help download my boxer’s pictures. I also found the web site to make the flashing avatar. I think one of the programs is called "Infanview" for resizing pictures. To make the flashing Avatars, you will find it on Downloads.com in the "most popular" section of the web site. Welcome from C.P. to C.P. we are glad you found us. You will find this place informative, supportive and addicting. I have Ramos, an eight month old flashy brindle boy who now weighs 69 pounds. He is tall, long and lanky, still in the cute puppy awkward stage but he does love to play. Do you ever use the town's dogpark? I am actually going to start bringing Ramos there, after I get the permit of course. Unfortunately it's winter and Ramos hates the cold, typical baby, but he could always use another friend to romp with. Well it's nice to see someone from home here! Look foward to your pics. and future posts.

That is so neat you are from Clifton Park! I actually don't know where the dog park is in Clifton Park but, we go to the Saratoga dog park about 3 times a wk. I didn't know you need a permit for the Clifton Park one, I have only heard about that park. Rocco would LOVE to play with Ramos. It would be excellent if we could get them together. Rocco is always up for new friends.

Also thank you all for the downloading material for the pictures I will give it a try. Everyone I have talked has been so friendly.

I think it would be excellent to get these two boys together. Right now, in fact as of today, I'm trying to curtail his activity level for a short time. His ears have been very problematic to get to stand; well when he threw his post and tape out today on his right ear it was standing perfectly. If I repost it for another two weeks he will be good to go, if I just tape him from here on in it may be a little longer since thrashing around may cause it to bend and not stand....it has been a very frustrating process and I'm nearly fed up. I'm waiting for his breeder to get back to me to advise me on how to proceed. This process has been an absolute nightmare, for both of us I think. Anyway I am pretty sure the town's park requires a permit (as with anything here). It is located across from the towns waste transfer station on I believe Vischer Ferry rd (off of Grooms or Englemore). He is willing to travel too, loves to go for rides so where they meet wont be an issue. He is excited, he hasn't played with a boxer his own size since he left his breeder. Unforunately there isn't a local boxerclub in the capital district yet, but that may change soon too. It would be awesome to have some local bashes around here. It also doesn't look like there are too many people here from the area although there is a new member(Roxys momma) from the Albany area under the Boxer bash catagory. Kind of disappointing but we will see.

Good luck with your process. Rocco's ears are natural so I never had to deal with it, and by the way it sounds I am glad I didn't. Anyway, I think I know where the park is, thanks for the directions. Yes, we usually go up to Saratoga because there is usually at least one dog for Rocco to play with. In fact we are going up tomorrow after noon and maybe even Friday we will have to see. Rocco is very unhappy with me today for not going but, I have to work this afternoon. Well, I hope we can get them together soon, Rocco would be so happy.

Welcome

Welcome. I grew up in Clifton Park. I now live in Delmar but am in the process of moving to Niskayuna. My folks live in Clifton park and we are the a least once a week. Roxy loves to play with other dogs. Although she is a little smaller than your baby. She is 5 1/2 months old. She can keep up with big dogs though. She has played with older boxers before and a black lab Rotty mix.
