New to boxerworld

Hi! I am new to Boxerworld, but I have been reading the forum chats religiously during my lunch hour at work. I was finally able to register (it has been closed for a while) today, so I am excited to be able to post a message to everyone. My husband and I have a 8-month old male Boxer named Kobi. Reading the puppy and training stories the past month has helped me considerably since this is the first Boxer I have ever owned. I have already received a great deal of insight from reading everyone's advice on various topics, and I hope to be able to help others some day down the road, too. I just wanted to say how much I love our little (well, not so little anymore) Kobi. He has been a rollercoaster of emotions...laughing, crying, anger, frustration...and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I was never a dog lover in my life, but I married a dog/Boxer lover, so I finally relented to getting one. For the first two months I was regretting every day of the decision, but as he has progressed with his training and he and I have bonded, I have come to realize I would never be able to live without his abundance of love, humor, and devotion to us. He has been an absolute joy in our life!

Just prepare yourself to be addicted

My Mac is 19 months old, and I know exactly what you mean. He was supposed to be mY boyfriends dog, but moved inwith me cause his daddy had to work out of town a lot At 1st I was unhappy, 1st year law school, baby Boxer --> alot of work! But it is all worth it. Just as you said "He has been a rollercoaster of emotions...laughing, crying, anger, frustration...and I wouldn't trade it for anything."

Hello and welcome. I was not a dog lover either until I met my first love Rocko. Now I am hooked and love every minute of the time I spend with my babies. Aren't they great. We look forward to seeing pictures of Kobi soon.

You will find this to be a great site, full of valuable information, fantastic people and lots of fun.

Hang in there with Kobi. Believe it or not, he is just becoming a teenager. Boys seem to mature slower than the girls. Teenage boxer boys are like teenage two footed boys. They just need a little time.
