Hello everyone, I am new to the site and I have to say I am glad I found it. I really enjoy reading the different forums on how our lovely boxers act. ANd on a not so good point, it has really helped to read the rainbow bridge forum as well. I had my sweet girl for almost 13 years, she was my best friend. I had a doctor's appointment and "made" her go with me which was a first as she never turned down a ride. I'm not sure what made me take her but while I was in town (which is where he vet it too) she became unable to move and we rushed her to the vet and unfortunately discoved that she had a cyst on her spleen that had ruptured and she was bleeding internally. With her age and how much she had bleed out already the vet said he didn't think she would make it through surgery so I made the decision to end her suffering. He said she wasn't in pain, just weak but too weak, she couldn't even hold her own head up. January 6th, 2005 is the day that I lost my best friend whom I will never ever forget. RIP Tossie...Mommy loves you.
On the brighter side I HAD to get another boxer even though I have a boxer/doberman from Tossie's only litter of puppies (accident a little over a year ago). One week after helping Tossie cross, I got a 12 week brindle female, Abbie. She is spawled out across my lap sleeping as I type this. I am looking forward to talking with you guys and sharing stories and pictures. Sorry I went on forever but I had to get it all out.

welcome to BW! I am soo sorry to hear about your poor Tossie. I lost my first boxer Oct 2004, and the pain is still as fresh as if it were yesterday. It took us a year to decide we were ready to welcome another boxer into our home and hearts, but Gracie has been a delight! She is so different than our Norton, which is good--she ducks his shadow very well! look forward to sharing stories and pics!

I felt really guilty about wanting another puppy so soon but we were planning on getting a puppy before we lost Tossie anyhow. After she was gone I thought I would never want another puppy but my Mom called and asked if I saw the ad in the paper. I looked and called the number and the breeders were so friendly and helpful. We went to look at the puppies at 11:30 at night and didn't get home until 4 in the morning. The told us of their loss of their stud due to another person negligence and that helped me with the loss of Tossie. It was a spur of the moment thing and everyone kept telling me that Tossie would want me to be happy again so we brought little Abbie home. I still cry almost every night and at times during the day. I have to take Abbie to the vet on Friday and I think I am finally ready to pick up Tossie's ashes after so long. For some reason I feel like she thinks I forgot about her or I am not coming back to get her even though I know she isn't there, it is only her ashes. It is so hard as you know but I will get better each day. I just am happy that she is young and healthy again, playing and running around like she should be. Sorry again, I don't mean to write a book each time but it just seems to happen...

Welcome to the site! I'm sorry to hear about Tossie...i'm not sure what I would do if I lost my Enzo. Good luck with the new puppy!

Welcome So sorry to hear about your baby Tossie. It is hard to let go but hopefully your new baby will help you with that. You know with "all" they can get into!!! lol Good luck and glad to have you aboard. Lot's of slubbery kisses from Gunny and Tessie.
