New to Boxer World

Hello Boxer World folks:

My name is Angelica and I am a proud new owner of two 7 week old boxer pups. They look like twins. Almost identical in color, stature and temperament. Believe it or not someone was about to abandon this adorable pair! Their loss is my gain. My 7000 square foot yard was missing one key ingredient to make it a happy place-a dog. Now it's twice as happy with its new inhabitants: Elvis and Presley (A fiting name for this royal pair)

I am not only new to this forum but new to boxers in general. I have a Rottweiler (Debora) and had a Staffordshire Terrier (Senior) (RIP) {Debora currently resides at my mom's house. I didn't want to take her away from the only home she's ever known. So I have general knowledge about dogs that can be applied to all breeds. But now I can't get enough information on boxers! :confused:

So far Elvis and Presley are au naturale (meaning they are undocked and unclipped). I have decided that I like the soft floppy ear look better. So no ear clipping but I'd like to dock their tails. At this age it'd be an amputation which I really have to examine more. Would anyone out here in Boxer World know a reputable vet in the Long Beach, California area? (It's worth a shot asking).

As soon as I develop my film I will submit pictures of my Elvis and Presley for the Boxer World to enjoy.

Keep browsing around these forums, Angelica, & you will find sooo much useful information and opinions! I'm new, too... and I find it so much fun. I tend to run on a bit, but....

You will find some comments on tail docking somewhere.... And check out the pics of "Cherokee" what a beautiful girl with the natural ears & tail. (Everyone has an opinion on THAT topic! But you have to make up your own mind on cosmetic surgery for dogs.)

I just love visiting the Picture Gallery & looking at everyone else's dogs.... I will look for your Elvis & Presley... yeah, great names! You oughtta move to Memphis!!!!haha.

I really love the names your pups have! And you were so kind to adopt them, it was really a gain. I bet you'll never regret it.

Unfortunately I can't help you with the vet but I wish you best of luck in finding a reputable and experienced one. And looking forward to seeing pics of Elvis and Presley
