Boxer Pal
my 19 mo/old female rescue is extremely terrified of the crate. She slobers excessively/pants, and her breathing becomes shallow. She has panic attacks and I am trying to help her work through it. My 14 mo/old male has no issues because he's been crated since he was a pup; he likes the crate. I need to help her work through this and at this point crating her is damaging. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am not sure if her previous owners used the crates as a form of punishment, and/or left her in there for long periods of time.
-Thanks

Completely Boxer Crazy
Maybe you could section off a part of your kitchen or put her in a bathroom? I had a dog once that would squeeze out of the crate, so he ended up working his way up to staying out all day(sectioned kitchen, bathroom, out and about). Good luck.

I will try sectioning off an area of the house. I have tried toys/blankets but she just pants and slobbers all over them. thanks for the tips!
