new puppy question

We're getting Cheetah a little brother in a couple of weeks and will start crate training him immediately. however, cheetah has recently graduated from her crate and we're not sure how we can bear to crate the new puppy
"Guiness" at night or while we're at work while Cheetah is allowed the freedom of the house. Do we put Cheetah in the crate with the puppy?
We just know if the puppy is in the crate and cheetah is out...she will go crazy try to get to her new brother to play with him. any suggestions.??

We did not have any problems when we got Lucy. Rocky is 2 1/2 and hasn't been in his crate for over a year. He was interested when we set it up again for the new puppy. She still goes in the crate when we are gone and he stays out. Once in a while he wanders in if the door is open just to make sure she doesn't have any toys that he wants in there. I am sure it will work out for you. The second one seems to learn from big brother/sister and will probably not have to be crated for long.

Think of it as crating the puppy for his own safety.

It wouldn't be fair to crate Cheetah since he has earned his freedom. There is no reason that you can't crate one and not the other.
