We got our new 8 week old puppy, Bailey on Friday! I am now officially a boxer owner! :) We have had a deposit on her since March, so we were beyond anxious for her to get here! She is just as cute as she can be. She has had two accidents in the house. Other than that, every time we put her outside she goes to the bathroom. First night was awful....up all night. Last night was better, she woke up two times and was up for good at 6 this morning (I guess I will have to become a morning person).

I saw what I can only imagine to be my first boxer burn sighting this morning. I have had puppies before, but never seen anything like this. Just like a lightening bolt, she was in the living room...ran to the kitchen...ran to the bedroom in about 2 seconds when she slipped on the hardwood floor and stopped. It was too funny! The only problem I am having with her is nipping hands and feet...any suggestions?

Here is a link to some pictures!

She is adorable! Congratulations! As for the nipping, yelp like a pup when she does it. Puppy don't speak english, so you have to speak puppy.

Oh my god, she is soooo cute lovicon
Yeah, better get ready to be a morning person from now on! It took me a while to get used to getting up early when I got my first puppy 2 years ago but now I kind of like it!
About the nipping: Like Gatorblu said, yelp when she does it. You can also leave the room when she gets too crazy with the nipping and biting so she learns that all fun stops when she bites. Do a search for "bite inhibition" on BW, there are many, many posts on this topic.
Good luck with your sweet baby girl!

Thanks! She went to the vet today and everything went great. She was just a little underweight, but she was the smallest of ten so that could be why!! I have been trying to yelp when she bites me...will just take some getting used to I guess. It is so hard to get mad at that cute little face!

Awww, she's freakin' adorable!

For biting, I've had great success with saying "Ouch!" and then giving her a toy she can chew on. I'm not a morning person either so it's been hard to wake up at 6 am every day. Occasionally, she'll let me sleep until 8 but I've had to resign myself to never sleeping in again. She's worth it though and Bailey is too from the looks of it. So cute!

Yay!! Cute puppy there.

+1 What everyone else said about yelping and ceasing play (and doing a search for bite inhibition on the forum) when bit. I would also add that you be pretty consistent and don't grow disheartened when it seems like it's not having any effect at all. The little puppies can be slow on the uptake about that kind of thing :)

Nothing but cuteness on four legs. A little jealous, my four legged bundle of joy will not be home until July 17th. Good luck and keep posting as I will be in your shoes in a few weeks.
