Both should be OK. LOL - I'm having recollections of 8 week old Henri shovelling chicken necks down his throat as if he'd never seen food before or it might be snatched away at any moment... I thought he might explode.
Chicken necks are something an 8 week old pup will consume easily - but will still have to chew a little. Backs are the opposite - they probably won't be able to consume much, but will get a heck of a lot of practice/learning about chewing there (and they'll be good for teething too). Thus, I'd suggest that you use a mixture of necks and meatier parts (even meat chunks) as the food you actually expect him to consume. And give backs/frames as well for chewing practice (but expect those not to be fully consumed).
