I'm glad to hear his first day went well. You are awesome for taking in a senior boxer, and I think you will see rewards for yourself as well. I don't think there is anything sweeter than a senior boxer. Those grey faces just make my heart melt!

Well, be sure that he will give you the best that he can, too. Once you have a boxer's love, it's unconditional.

Hey Ed, Welcome

Thank you for giving this guy a chance! You sound like a true gem! I am so glad things went well! You are in good hands here, there are some very educated people as to the breed here! Feel free to ask anything here!!!

I would like to thank everyone on this board for their interest an concern Mugsey and I are truly grateful. The one thing that I am concerned about is the skin infection on Mugsey face under and over the left eye.The vet gave me some antibiotics he gets them twice a day for about three weeks.Mugsey is going back to the vet this coming friday the 17th of Jan while he is sedated the vet can take a better look.He will have some benign cysts removed on his right side and upper back.He is so good and loveable it is so great to come home and have him there. There is in my opinion no greater true love than that between a dog and their owner.I was an Irish Setter owner for 17 years and I am just finding out about Boxers I am sure I will have questions on this board in the future.Again from the bottom of my heart Thanks,Ed.

Congratulations.

Hi Ed,just wanted to congratulate you on rescuing an older dog.Our first boxer we'd rescued from the pound. The police had found him tied to a tree in a deserted forest area. They thought that he'd been tied up for at least a week. When we took him in,he was so thin you could have used his rib cage as a xylophone. He cost us a fortune in food in the first months that we had him and he'd lost his confidence too.He always made sure that he was first into the car and last out. He gave us 11 years of pure love and lots of great memories and we were very sad when he died. We're now into our 4th boxer and you could call us fanatics. I wish I'd known about this site sooner, because I think it's fantastic.Hope your dog brings you many years of great joy and that you may also turn into a Boxer Freek. All the best .Sileas's Mum.:D

Thanks Gibson,
Mugsey is doing very well. The cysts removal went well.He is more use to his new surroundings and he is a great dog.Mugsey is enjoying the cooler weather here in south east Texas. But it will not be long before spring starts and it will be hot and humid.I cannot believe how playful and affectionate he is for an
eight year old.He has brought me so much happiness and Mugsey
is very important to me and really puts things in perspective,Again Thanks and God Bless.
