Sun Block

Hi Jo,

When we first got Georgie we took her down to Winchelsea for the day and met many ex-boxer owners all wanting to stroke and fuss over her. We were also given loads of advice, one man said to put Simple Sun block on the sensitive areas ie ears, nose etc as he had lost his boxer to cancer caused by too much exposure to sun, however that was over a year and half ago and I haven't yet had to put cream on Georgie as I usually take her for walks early in the morning or late afternoon when the sun's not too hot. We didn't really get much weather last year did we so when we went down the coast it was quite chilly.

We got Frank when he was eighteen months old last August hoping that Georgie would calm down a bit with company around. Georgie was very hard to get potty trained as we work during the week, but since Frank's been around we very rarely have deposits in the house :). She still chews a bit and if a room was left open she'd have a field day. We got Georgie from a friend's pet shop and now know that she probably came from a puppy farm in Wales. My dog trainer said the puppy farms don't breed properly which means they could have breed too hyper boxers which makes Georgie but I love her character she's cheeky, very crafty, pigs Frank's food when I'm not looking, gets Frank into trouble and Frank, bless him, he takes it all in his stride. Why anyone would want to get rid of him I don't know, he's like a soft bean bag (nickname Mr Bean). When I want a cuddle he just goes all floppy and lets me move him onto my lap. Georgie goes ridgid cos she's already comfy.

Hope I haven't bored you, just realised how long this is getting.

Hope to catch you here again.

Love, Sue

Hi sue (redboxerk9), thanks 4 your reply it wasn't boring at all it's nice to hear that i'm not the only one with a hyper dog. We got chance when he was 13 weeks old and he was the last one, he had been on his own for 5 weeks since his litter mates had gone and i think the breeder and her 3 children had give him lots of attention and rough play so he just doesn't calm down. If anyone comes near him when were out on walks he just has to jump all over them if he's covered in mud or not!!!.When were in the house he won't sit by himself he has to be touching you at all times and if you move that to him is a sign that you wan't to play!! and he starts to jump all over you but he's getting a bit big for that now as he's 9 mns old and very stocky weighing in at 5 stone!!!. We are still trying to encourage him to sleep in his own bed at night as we are waking up with stiff necks and backs because he likes to sprawl out!!, but if we attempt to move him he gives us a sad face and we give in and take the painkillers!!!!!.Well i hope i havn't bored you i'll have to go now as he is getting impatient and want's to play catch even though it is almost 12:15 am.
