Hey All, I am a proud owner of a 2 month old baby girl. Her name is Rylee. I've only had her since Friday, 5/28. She is the sweetest thing in the world; however, she absolutely hates her crate. She will use the bathroom in it and it doesn't bother her at all. I keep telling myself that she misses her 7 other siblings....I need help though. We have a play yard that we used when our children were infants, so we put that in our garage around the crate, with the door open. So Rylee can come out of the crate to use the bathroom on the puppy pad and then sleep in her crate. Am I doing the right thing? or am I giving her too much freedom? I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing...HELP.

Also, she's only 5.5 pounds...do you think that is too small for a 2 month old?

I'm sure you will see a lot of me...this is the first dog I've ever had. :)

Well, I don't know enough to give you too much info. But, I did want to say that my 10wk old is 17lbs. At 7wks he was already 9lbs. However (and this is a big however) he was the biggest in the litter. His brother, who was the runt was 1/2 his size! It was so cute to see them side by side. You would've thought they were from two different litters. Is Rylee eating well?

Congrats on the new baby.. Im sure someone here will give you an answer to the problem. Ive learned so much on these boards!

Hi there and welcome! nice to meet you and Rylee. Are you home with her all day? If so its better to take her outside and show her where she is to go to the bathroom from the beginning. Have you taken her to the vets yet to have a check up? this would be a good idea. 5lbs at two months? she seems very small.

Wow how interesting- I picked up vegas on the same day and she is only 4.4lbs at 2 months! She was the runt but man is she tiny and she also has a huge problem with crate training- I have been leaving her in her crate and she still has a hard time (crys excessively) keep me posted we could compare!
