Loki's Mom

Hi - my name is Peggy and although I have just registered to post on Boxer World, boxers have been a very big and important part of our lives for many years. We have had 5 within the past 22 years. Right now we only have one, our little man, Loki. He is one and a half years old, a beautiful flashy brindle male, neutered, cropped ears. He certainly does live up to his name, which is from Norse mythology - the god of mischief! This will be great to hear from others that share our love of this truly great breed!

Hi Peggy, welcome to boxerworld and the home of all the crazy boxer lovers! I certainly wish I had known about boxers long before I found Ruby, can't believe I've lived 40 years and didn't know more than one single boxer all that time. But now we are all happily hooked on boxers and I'll have a boxer until I die! This is a great place to come and talk to other crazy boxer owners and believe me there are plenty of us to go around!!!

Hi Peggy!
Like you, I've had boxers for many years (37 yikes!) My first boxer, Folly, was gotten from the SPCA when I was 12. My mom would check every now and then that first night to make sure Folly didn't chew me up while I was asleep in bed! I was hooked ever since. Then after getting married we had 2 boxers (not at the same time), another Folly and then Fanny who had to be put to sleep the day before this past Christmas Eve. Needless to say we were all devastated. Boxers are people and the emptiness we felt was enormous. On New Year's Day, we were lucky enough to find Dolly up in Maine. We live in NH. What a happy way to start the New Year. I found this website during the week between Christmas and New Years, crying over the photos and stories people had to tell. I'm so happy we have Dolly now. I had taken a week's vacation and now have to return tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to that since we are crating Dolly. I never did that in the past...was a part-time worker with little kids. Now its just my husband, me and Dolly. What fun! Good luck with Loki...god of mischief! Aren't Boxers great!

Hi and welcome :)

Tina is my first boxer and I am not such a long-time boxer owner like you, but I surely will have boxers forever ;) I love their great personality and I think that the name Loki suits a boxer so much!

There for a minute I thought our dogs had the same name!! Loke got her name from a Hawaiian dictionary since we got her in Hawaii. It means Rose. I just like the way it sounded!! I wonder if it's pronounced the same. Low-key? That's how our girl is called.:p

Hey Loke!!
We couldn't believe it, another Loki - pronounced the same way too, only spelled with an e instead of an i !!
I will just bet that your Loke is as spoiled rotten as our Loki is too! He is so bad, after supper every night he waits until about 8 pm, then he "starts in", standing in front of the tv, whining and carrying on until you say RIDE - then, Katie bar the door! He makes a mad dash for the garage door and he is ready for his ride! It is the highlight of his day - we try to keep it short, but he does get his ride almost every night.
We only got our computer in October and so are just learning about it, but I really want to be able to put pictures on here of Loki. He is so handsome - but then every boxer is cute and adorable and georgeous/beautiful/handsome and goofy, all in one lovable package! Lucky us!!

I see that you are from Tennessee, our daughter moved back to Texas last year from Cookeville, Tenn. We have been there a few times, very nice. Thanks for the reply and hope to talk to you again!

Hi Peggy and welcome!
I was born in Witchita Falls, Texas! I only lived there till I was about a year old I think. Then in Haskell, and then to Abilene. We moved to Missouri when I was 13 yrs. But I still LOVE Texas! I still have lots of family in Witchita Falls.
Anyway! Welcome to the board!

I was just wondering where Wichita Falls, TX is. We were stationed in Killeen, TX about 3 years ago. I didn't like that area at all, but I thought Dallas and San Antonio were very nice. San Antonio I love! We also just moved from Hawaii and we drove cross country from LA and went through Amarillo and it was nice. Texas is so HUGE!!

Loke is a very spoiled girl, she stayed with my parents for a couple months while we moved and they spoiled her even more. She likes to ride but I have one heck of a time getting her to jump into the XTerra. She just doesn't want to jump up or down! She is my 3 yr old's best buddy. All the way from FL she slept on the back seat with her head on my daughter's lap, it was too cute!

Well, I don't think I even welcomed you to the board in my first post! So welcome and nice chatting with you!:)

Peggy--Welcome from another Texan! It's nice to see more of us on the boards lately. Depending on how the selection board goes, I may be headed to Sheppard for the Health Services Administration course sometime in the coming year.

Welcome to the most addictive site on the internet!

Cheers,

Welcome to you and Loki. This certainly is a great place for all of us crazy boxer lovers. I had a friend about 20 years ago that had two boxers and I loved them and always wanted a pup. Was not able to get one until Rocko came into our lives. Now we are totally lost....even my husband who was a pit bull fanatic before I met him. Anyway, snorts, wiggles, kidney beans and slurps to you from Tyson and Five.
