acuired new pup last weekend (white male w/one brindle spot)this is the 6th boxer dating back to early 60's,my first as a youngster.Once you've had a boxer it's hard to get it out of your blood(hooked)just luv em.the best companions around, and totally loyal.Anyway thought I would try a white this time and avoid cropping ears.Read about training ear thru massaging during pup yrs to stimulate and train to stand up will tell ya later how it goes.Would like some feedback if anyone has tried this with any success.Larry

Welcome larryh! I also have a white boy and he has a white brindle patch over his right eye! He is my pride and joy. This is my first boxer and I just fell in love with him when I found him. I was so hoping that my application would be approved and it WAS to my great joy. I wanted his sister too who has the same patch but over her left eye....wouldn't they have been a pair! She was already promised to someone though. In all honesty though, this one has been a hand full and two might have killed me (just kidding). Joe's ears will remain natural and I love to watch them flop in the wind when he is at a full run!

Any way welcome and congrats on your new boy!

Handful is an understatement***Ha!

As pups they can be the most uncoordinate, goofy, and bang into any thing in their vacinity,I think a puppy helmet would be a great invention. The lady we got him from said they always get a rainbow litter with lots of whites. In the past always took a lot time to think of name for the other boxers, but this time only one name would fit"Buddy".Right now he's trying to get accepted by our two shitzu's who don't know what to think about this new stranger in the house, disrupting their spoiled routines, but in time they will learn to appreciate his presence.

I see that we are both from Texas! I used to have a white boxer with a patch over the left eye. His ears were cropped, but he was my first boxer and i will never own another breed. I've never heard of the ear training thing. Ramses is my boxer now and i left his ears floppy, mainly because he was a rescue boxer and I got him at 3 months. I thinks he is just adorable with those ears though. He'll jerk his head up when I call him, and one ear will flip over. He just looks so crazy. I love him to death. Well congrats on the new addition to your family, good luck with the chewing stage!

I wasn't aware that they could be massaged to stand up. I have read about massaging the ears to lay in the correct fold when they are left natural. (so you don't get the flying nun effect)
