Hi there...I got my Boxer almost three months ago as a rescue. She was dumped at a local PETsMART because the neighbors dogs kept attacking her. She is about a year old and such a sweet girl. However, the fact that she was attacked by two Pit Bulls makes her a litte wary around other dogs. Needless to say she is my only dog, I do have a cat that she does not get along with either. When I was searching for names for her a friend of mine suggested "Shorts," as in Boxer Shorts. So "Shorts" is now living the life as a mostly indoor dog that has free run of the house and the backyard. She is lucky enough to get to go to work with me sometimes, and boy does she have fun. I am just hoping that I will be able to get her to be around other dogs, its not that she is aggressive but she is very defensive.

Shorts (cute name) is so lucky to have been adopted by you. This is a great site and I am sure others will have loads of input with regards to her shyness around other animals. Can't wait to hear updates and see pics - Cathy

That is a cute name and a beautiful boxer. She will come around. Do you have any friends with dogs? If so, maybe that would be the first step to slowly introducing her to other dogs. I was told to let them first interact on leashes by smelling each others behinds and praise them at the same time. Good luck!
