Hi All, First of all, I want to thank the "Boxer Dog Board" for letting me be a member of your group. I have been trying to get in for a few weeks, and was so excited when I finally did get registered an all.

My name is Mary (aka Goozie) I live on a farm in Pa. with my husband and our two girls, Shelby 6yrs, and Gracie 14weeks. They are boxers. We have had boxers mostley all our entire married life. On Jan 1st of this year, we lost our precious Sophie to a brain tumor. It came on fast, within two weeks we had to put her down. We were with her till the last, I cradled her head in my shoulder and whispered in her ear that she was going to doggie heaven to see Simon (a black Schnauzer we had) It was the most heart wrenching thing we have ever been through. She still is missed very much, and I still tear up when I think of her. After than, Shelby went into depression, so we decided to get a new baby boxer. She is a HOLY TERROR!! I basically came on this site, to read, get advice and support on how to tame her down just a little, I do realize she is just a pup though. Infact she starts ''Puppy School" this evening. First I ever experienced that. Looking forward to reading and replying to post, and making new friends. I have a very outgoing personality, and love to chat and have fun. Thank you again for letting me become a member of "Boxer World"

Hi welcome! I'm quite a new member myself but i'm addicted already. Good luck with your trainging classes hope they go well....... i remember my first traingin class with Saffie, she was a terror and we were asked to leave early to let the other dogs have a chance without saffie jumping all over them!

Hello and Welcome Mary! I am so sorry to hear about losing your last baby - but happy that you found a new playmate for Shelby! Don't worry too much about Gracie being a holy terror - Ronin was wild like that when he was a puppy. Luckily he's mellowed a LITTLE bit now that he's older. Good luck tonight with your first class!

Welcome

Welcome to BW! I am also very new here. When Joe was a puppy he was a holy terror. We took him to doggie school, but he did not want to cooperate all the time when he did he was great but other time he liked to be the class clown. He did better when I worked with him at home when he did not have other dogs and people watching him. He is a very well behaved dog now. Good luck tonight and do not get frustrated.

Ready to go tonite. Like some of you said, I we may do better on our own. I think she will take the entire hr. just to settle down. Can anyone give me some tips on findig my way around, if there is a chat. Or do people use Instant messengers instead.

Welcome to BW!

Hello Mary!

Welcome to Boxerworld! Shelby & Gracie sound wonderful! I'm so sorry to hear about Sophie. If you ever need an ear, shoulder, anything at all, we're all here for you!

I think you'll be happy you joined! Don't worry about Gracie, she's a puppy. Our Jake is 4 months and is pretty wild. We just love him to pieces!

Have a great time with your girls! :) We'd love to see some pics when you get the chance.

All the best,

Will, Mindy & Jake

Hi Mindy

Hi Mindy, Thanks for replying to my message, and the re-assurance about Gracie. Sophie and Shelby were so easy to train, but Grace is another story. I have tried to post some pics of them, but either they are too big, or something. My computer smarts are not that great, so I really don't know how to fix them. Gracie is our 4th boxer we have had. She is going to be a beautiful dog when she grows up, She is fawn and white. She has a ''blaze'' of white on her head to a ''horse shoe'' around her neck, if that is even a good way to describe her. Shelby is mostly all fawn, with very little white on her face, mostly a black mask. She is a ''honey'' So loving!!! Sophie was a ''daddy's girl" Her personality was completely different from Shelby's. She was loving, but sort of laid back about it. All were and are very head strong. A typical trait of a boxer I think. Boxers are very intelligent, I am learning more and more about the breed. Anyways, thanks for replying. I really do appreciate the kindness and the offer to help. I love to post and reply, but still feel sort of shy, and thats not me!! Have to learn my way around.
Take Care,
Goozie
