I bought Dodge a new kennel last night. I decided to get a plastic one this time, instead of a wire one. The reason for this is that I am hoping it will contain the boxer hair a little more than the open wire kennel. Anyway, I feel so bad because Dodge was very afraid of the new kennel this morning. I had to help him into it. Then he just stood there almost frozen. I felt so bad leaving for work. I really hope that when I get home he has moved ; ( Any advice on getting a dog used to a new kennel?

Well I've always used the wire cages never had a issue with the hair and my boxers but my chow well now that's a different story. With a plastic cage I'm not sure. Can the pup see out of it like the wire ones? maybe the pup finds that scarey that she/he can't see out as much??

He can see out of the front and two windows on the side, but it is definitely more enclosed than the wire one. I would've brought his old kennel back into the house except that I am pregnant and cannot be lifting heavy things. If he still seems scared tonight, we might have to bring the wire kennel back inside.

I would do that if he is still scared. It might help having the wire cage. I would ask someone else to bring it in for you. I wish you luck!!
