I have started a new job after being unemployed since I graduated from college back in May. I am sad that I have to leave my boxer at home for such a long time especially becuase she is not used to it. What can I do to make it better for her to adjust?

I think there are all kinds of potential options, but I don't know which, if any, may work for you.
--If you work close enough to home, you can go home on your lunch break.
--You can have a friend/family member/neighbor stop by during the day.
--You can hire a dog walker to come in during the day.
--You can send her to doggy day care a couple of times a week.

I understand your situation, I had the same with Harley. I was with him from 8 weeks to 9 months before I got a job. Anyway, it turns out that the time I put in with him during that time was valuable in his growing up (he is not 14 months).

Anyway, now I am employed I cannot make it home during the day to see him. My arrangement is as follows for 3 days (Partner is home Thur & Fri):

0630 - take him out for little walk
1200 - hired dog walker comes in to take him and a gang of other dogs out for 1 to 1.5 hour (he loves this)
1930 - take him out for a walk and play

Ohh and during the day I leave plenty of toys and stuffed Kongs. This seems to keep him amused, he has not been destructive as yet.

Of course lots of love and affection when I get in at night.

I know that certain situations will require different methods, but this seems to work for me and Harley.

Hope this helped.
