She is 14 years old and a little unsteady these days but she still tries to act as she did when she was a pup.

Welcome to Boxerworld!
I myself have only been here for a month and already I know my way around! I remember when my old dog was 14... she died when she was 16 1/2 but still had that puppy personality and look in her eye. Anyway, Brittain is my baby sister. . . Quite a change from the last dog, but a welcome one!!

Hello Lizzie, welcome to the Boxerboard.
Congratulations on having Poppy with you for so many years, she looks a beautiful old Grandma.
I know what you mean about trying to still act like a puppy, our Brenin was suffering with arthritis quite badly but he still had his silly moments, we had him for 11.5 years. Sergeant is 7 and has arthritis in his back legs, it is not too bad as we are giving him special natural medication for it, you wouldn't know he has anything the matter when he races around the back garden or chases a cat.

Thanks for all the lovely messages....

I "lost" Poppy this evening.

It seems that she has a tumour in her middle ear....she lost all movement in her hind quarters and appeared quite drunk.

My vet said that the kindest thing would be to "let her go"

I did....and I HURT!!!!!!
