Boxer Pal
Well I've decided to add another member to the group. Shes a boxer girl name Lucy and she just turned one. I have a three month old boxer boy named Cosmo and and five yr old pug named Farley. The couple that I bought her from said they didn't have enough time for her. They dropped her off Sunday and left her for a while. Everything went fine, no problems at all. We all thought it would be a good fit but then Sunday night things started to change a bit. When everyone started to calm down I noticed Lucy would tense up whenever Cosmo came around. It continued to progress until she lunged at him and and he yelped. That happened once again last night and on into today. I don't think she has hurt him but it sounds and looks scary. When they play, they play great. I was thinking maybe she just gets tired of him a bit and thats her way of saying "back off". I haven't seen her show any aggression towards the pug. I'm hoping this isn't the start to bigger problems. I was thinking when he grows bigger than her surly it will stop or would it? She is not spade yet and I plan on doing that asap. I noticed she leaves little spots wherever she sits. Is that a sign of being in heat. If she was in heat, would that make her anxious. When I spade her, will it calm her down like neutering a male. I will neuter Cosmo when he's old enough.

Sorry so long a post. Any thoughts are much appreciated.

sounds like she is in heat--which will definitely affect her mood and make her a bit more...well...bitchy! for lack of a better word! Also, she is still working on figuring out her place in the hierarchy of the household as well. I would start a strict regiment of NILIF with her so that you can be sure she realizes that she falls below you--as for your boxer pup and pug--most likely she sees herself higher than them...and as they are smaller/younger, most likely they will go along with this....hopefully things will settle down soon--there is always a bit of adjustment once the "honeymoon" fades, but given the young age of your pup, things should settle down nicely soon enough. Getting her spayed will help too! :)
