First of all is anyone from Southeastern Pennsylvania ? We are in need of a good Vet that knows what he is doing when it comes to ear cropping for a Boxer.

Thanks

You’re in the same situation I was in last year. I looked for the best vet before I got Xena that had tons of experience with cropping. I got quoted $500 for the procedure. When I got Xena and called them back to make the appointment, the price went to $700, plus supplies, due to the waiting list. They neglected to tell me that when I called weeks earlier.
I ended up not getting Xena’s ears cropped because she was 12 weeks old already when I got her.
I’m sorry I don’t have any advice for you, but for everyone else getting a puppy, have it all arranged before picking up your puppy :)

Contact the breeder or the Boxer club in your area. Be sure to discuss the crop as well as price. Different breeds have different crops, have you ever seen a Boxer with a pit crop?
Good Luck.

When we got our boxer at 8 weeks his ears were cropped. Our breeder takes her litters to a Vet in Canada. She has had this Vet do her last 7 litters as the other Vet retired. She is very happy with this Vet and has had no problems. Oskar's ears have turned out great!

WOW, 8 weeks i thought you couldn't get there ears cropped that young??? I had Jakin's cropped between 11 and 13 weeks and the vet said that was a good age to have brought him in....So is 8 weeks to young i'm just courious??

Our breeder took her litter in at 6-7weeks. She usually does them that early. I'm not sure what the best age is with ears. His ears look beautiful now. When I picked him up that was a different story!

Check out my girl Britnee in my gallery (she is at the bridge now) she has a "short crop" we had the ear cut short to keep some of the roundness of her ear and less of the length. Her ears stood from day one never had to do any taping or anything. Needless to say we were soooo happy with the results. Too bad you couldn't come up here to Michigan and get the ears done I know a great vet that is well seasoned in cropping ears. She was recommended by all the vets in our area.

Thank you for clearing that up with the age issue....I had Jakin's ears tapped, for precautions...seen's how i'm a first time boxer mom, i had to have the very best, and it had to be perfect. Jakin's ears stood up like the 2nd day i brought him home from the vet....after about 6 or 7 day's i had the vet take the tape off and see how his ears would do without it. They did fine till we were out for our morning jog and they started to tip, i was like ok were going back to the vet, then he only had to have them taped over the weekend, and there beautiful, you can see him and his beautiful ears in my gallery! There not i guess the normal cut for boxer ears there alittle fat i think not really skinny like i've seen some. The vet that i went too here in Tennessee is awesome, my mom and i have been taking our animals there for about 4 years now, because he saved my moms cat's life w/a blood transfussion! Thank you again for clearing the age thing up!
