Well they arent really being bad...just tiring!
We have a new addition, she is a 3yo rescued cat & she is very friendly and brave for being introduced to a strange home, new ppl & two 'overhappy' boxers who are absolutely best mates!
The introduction happened last night but they had known each other was around for a couple of days. Both dogs are EXTREMELY obsessive about her & didnt sleep last night. When shes been around they WILL NOT listen to me let alone look at me & even though she has swiped & hissed a couple of times, they still wont get the hint. They arent aggressive with her at all, just over the top & because I have never been in a situation of owning both a dog AND a cat before and am wondering how long this will last?
They know cats & have been around them quite a lot but could all this fuss be because she is in THEIR house? I wouldnt have thought dogs would feel territorial about cats!!

It really doesn't sound like a territory problem, more like "we have a NEW toy" problem. With time the novelty will wear off and all will be fine. My cat teases the dogs and gets them to chase her. Next thing you know, they are all sleeping together.

Oh wow that is good to hear! Im waiting for that moment when she'll rub up against them & flick her tail in their faces, I know they would love it. I guess it is so much better having enthusiastic dogs than hungry ones huh! I am at work today & partner is at home with the 'family' so I'm pretty interested to hear whats happened today.
Thanks heaps for your reply.

LOL don't worry too much. they like it because it moves, makes funny noises, and if they are like Dakota, Play play play play.

They just want Miss Kitty to play. lol I can just see them.

I agree with the others, they just want to play. Our new puppy loves to chase the cat. She hisses and spits and he thinks it so much fun. Fat cat, however, doesn't enjoy it or does she? Some days she gives him the stare down and then round and round they go! They haven't snuggled up together but I think they have a mutual agreement, you chase me, I swat you, now go to your corner, bell rings and there they go again...

We had our cats before Foreman and even though they are used to dogs they will never get used to Foreman he is almost 2 and still chases them every chance he gets he gets mouthfuls of hair when he gets them They have learned to live around foreman and walk around when he is sleeping or out. I think he is jealous of them poor Harley loves them but they won't give him the time of day now.

I have my one boy who was a puppy when we got him and my boyfriend has a cat who we've had since before we got Chance so he grew up with her. It's so funny to watch them 2 of them play because you would swear they were best friends. When we take Chance to the boyfriends parents house (they have 5 acres and 3 other dogs) to play and he visits with them for like a week she and I are absolutley lost without him :) It's a real riot in our house, can't wait untill we bring a sister home for Chacne, then I think we will be living in a Circus. But enjoy them while you got them right? :)
