I am getting a female, fawn, boxer for a Christmas present from my hubby! I was wondering if there is anything I need to know right away! We are picking her up tomorrow! Thank you so much in advance! This will be our first boxer! We have a Chiuauaha (how ever you spell it) now and a cat and fish!

I would suggest crate training for sure if you hadn't planned on it. It is a lifesaver. Also, guard your good shoes with your life!

Yep crate training, start em young.

Try to ignore her crying when it's time for bed.

Buy a hot water bottle and put it in her crate/bed, it will relax her and it will feel like her momma because it;s warm and comfy.

My lil boxer fell asleep on my foot many times during it's first few weeks!

We crate trained our other dog! I was thinking about doing it that way again! I will make sure the shoes are put up and there are toys to play with! Any other advice would be wonderful!
Thank you,

What items would you suggest I need right off? Here are a few things I was thinking of....

Food
Dishes
Collar (which kind?)
Leash
Crate
Bed

A flat buckle collar is about all you should ever need. But with a baby pup, I'd suggest starting off with something lightweight and cheap (a cat collar, even). It's only for him to get used to wearing, after all - and he'll very quickly grow out of whatever fits now.

Toys, toys & more toys they love new toys
Keep doors closed in rooms you don't need open, they love toilet paper, tipping over trash cans, just keep one step ahead of them any thing on their level is free game to them so be sure to keep things out of reach
Oh yeah & patience

I bought a bag that had about 5 toys in it! It had a rope in it but I thought it was to little for the puppy for I am going to give it to our other dog and I bought our new dog a bigger one!

Carrots are a life saver. Something for the puppy to chew on rather than you. Also, cold facecloths for the same purpose.
